Can't help noticing so many posts lately regarding how long it's been taking for mail to go back & forth to our guys. Well.... I have a few "civilian" friends I write to fairly regularly, plus have been working on a real estate deal out of state & have to do some of it by mail, and have found out that over the past couple of weeks, NO one has gotten any of the letters I've mailed (from three different towns, depending on where I am at the time), nor have I gotten any of theirs. It doesn't normally take mail a week and a half to go between here (Oregon) and California, but my aunt down there mailed a birthday card on the 1st that I haven't gotten yet, and I wrote to her around the same time, telling her that I'm moving out of state; I called her yesterday 'cause I was a little worried, not hearing from her & she said she hadn't gotten my letter. Ditto friends in Massachusetts, Montana & Florida. Hmmmm....are the postal workers on strike or something??? Anyway, I'm thinking that something is slow in THAT system, and it might be messing up our IMPORTANT mail. I know I haven't gotten a letter from my guy in a week; normally, it takes four days each way for our mail, and it's been like clockwork; don't have a clue what's up, but I'm sure not liking it much.....

Thats odd. I think you should speak to someone at the Post Office regarding that

Mail from/to San Quentin seems slow right now too. It took my man 14 days for his last letter, he though I was mad at him or something... I'm not sure why there is a hold up, I just hope it gets fixed soon!

I spoke with our postmaster & she said that EVERYone's complaining; I'm even getting BILLS late (luckily, I do 'em all online). Haven't gotten a letter from Michael in well over a week, which NEVER happens, and it's bumming me out BIG time. Our postmaster here is totally cool; she said that if things were still slow after the weekend, she'd start checking around to see what's ailing the system. My psycho ex from forever-ago called last night & said he never heard from me after he sent a birthday card (???he didn't get them for me when we were together???) & wondered what was up 'cause I'm usually at least polite enough to say "Thank you", but I never did get a card.... DARN DARN DARN the mail, anyway!!! (you all know what I'm REALLY saying there, right?)

Despite the hurricane (he s near Orlanddo) mail from Florida still arrived here (Europe) 6 days after my friend mailed it. We always write each other over the weekend en mail our letters Sunday eve. His is sent out by the mailroom on the Monday, and I receive it Saturday. He gets his letter from me Fridaynight. (It probably arrives in the mailroom Friday morning.)
So we really have nothing to complain about.
Mail from Texas has been taking 8 days recently though.
The same thing has been going on for me, I noticed it's been taking longer than normal to send/recieve letters. It normally takes 2 days but the last week it has taken up to a week.

I'm sorry everyone is experiencing slow mail but I gotta say I'm glad it's just not me I was starting to think my guy just wasn't writing !!
