It's actually quicker at SQ than at some other places. Mine took just under a month. Some other facilities can take up to three months or longer. Hang in there!

im glad to know this, cuz i was under the impression that it would take like 8-10 weeks at SQ just to get looked at since they have so many inmates there. now im sending the form to see a condemed inmate, so does that make any dfference???

Everybody is different. When my husband ERic was at the Q it took 10 weeks
for him to get me approved to see him, I imagine because I have a CDC # when I was a minor. It has been closed for years, but that CDC # will follow me around forever. When Eric was at California Men's Colony I got approved
in 1 week. Every prison is different. From what I was told when I called the
visiting Sgt at the Q, he told me that they only review and do background
checks twice a week, so if there is alot of visiting forms waiting for bkgd checks, then you just have to be patient. Aside from that your b/f. or hubby
is the one who has to write you and let you know if you have been approved
or not. Then prison doesn't do it..At least they didn't do that with me. Good
Luck, and stay strong. Suzi

yeah i think i just got lucky this time cuz i got approved in only a few days shy of 3 weeks, so im thinking thats kinda quick compared to what ive been hearing from you and other people about the Q. so i will be visiting for the 1st time up there next week.

Best wishes for a happy visit to see your friend/ hubby/ b/f...If you are behind
the glass it will be a hour visit. The clock starts as soon as you have checked
in, so if he is late getting to the behind the glass visit, your visit can be cut
short. I know this has happened to me. And it sucked. But I got to see my
husband and that's all that matters.. :)

Jasonsmyhoney, I would suggest that you get at the prison at least 30 to 45
minutes early. It all depends on how long of a line is at the Gatehouse when
you are processed in. One line is for contact visits, the other for non contact.
There is really no way of knowing, however early is best, as you proably know
that you have to walk all the way up to the actual visiting area.Have a great
visit!! :) Suzi
