I am new to this site, recently a friend of mine was taken to Pitchess detention center. I was wondering if anyone knows anything about the place or if they know anyone who is there? I would appreciate any info.

it seems like it is really rough there...

i know they have supermax there..

oh, this shouldn't matter, but depending his skin color..things are diifferent...it is very segregated in there..most facilities in california are..i don't know in other states.....

for visiting it is much better than county. you can visit them for an hour on sat and sunday. it is like 10 minutes away from magic mountain. I'd rather go there than to mens central. if you have any questions about visiting just ask someone will have the answers

Pdc Is So Much Better The County, Theres Free Parking And Visiting From 8:00 To 2:00. Sometimes It Gets Packed At Certin Times Mostly Between 10 And 12 And Sometimes Its Not At All. U Take A Bus To Where There At And You Visit For An Hour Or Sometimes More If Hes In The South Facility. But It Better There.

Thank you for the info, he has been calling me almost everyday and he says that he is ok in there but I was still worried. I hate the lockdowns because I don't get to hear from him. It's the worst feeling not being able to pick up the phone and call a person whenever you feeling like talking to them. he is in the North medium security. He says it's like daycare in there. LOL by the way I think this is a great site!

i am glad you've been able to speak with him, oh, my, when they are in county (jail) they can cal all day and night i think wayside (pdc's) phones go off at 10pm...

yeah, exactly they sit around watch tv, play pinocle, talk smack...i swear they are the chattiest cathys..

is he waiting to be sentenced, or is he just doing jail time...

yeah, they seem to go on lockdown a lot there..

in some of the areas they let them work..

that is so hard to get use to, not being able to just call....

if you ever worry, you can call the jail to see if he is on lockdown or what not...if you havn't heard from him...

My husband is at North County Corrections at Pitches . They are on lock down and I heard they moved over 200 to prisons over the week end from Pitches and Men's Central Jail and they are planning to move 400 more this week. That is the last I heard as of today.

Last I heard as of today they moved over 200 inmates to state prisons over the weekend and plan to move 400 more this week to gain controle over the rioting.Please lakrgirl2003 if you can ask your husband if he might know my husband goes by Lynch or Big G he is African American he is very approchable he isn't a gangster and isn't with the race riots of course he will do what he eas to do to defend his self but he isn't racest I an hispanic and we have a 3 year old and most of his friends are hispanic or white. hey well if you want information you just go to the pitchess detention center website and it will have information about the jail. plus you could get his information there too. it will say inmate information and you click on it and put your friends first and last name and the month, day and year he was born and all his information will come out.

Hello Yeraz I know how frustrating it is not to be able to call them when you need or want to talk.My husband is there in Pitchess now hes in north all I know is I get on bus 2 and get off at gate 2 I also know he has a little bit more freedom than the other part of the north facilities they even have him working out there doing whatever job needs to be done...As far as on where my husband is they are not in lockdown. And my husband and I are in fear that they are going to get moving him to state soon seeing how they have moved so many people..But all we can do right now is wait til his time is done..and stay strong..I know you will find everyone here so nice and very helpful I know I did.Everyone here makes you a little stronger knowing there are people going through just about the same thing you are..So if you have any more question PLEASE ask we are here to help and if you want to you can message me anytime with your questions...I will try to help the best I can...Take care and keep your head up....;)

man do anybody up on here know any way to get to pitches like a bus company or sum?? i tried calling some of dem numbers but they jsu be ring aint nobody answer..n my dude up in there for another 2 months. so yeah get back wit sum number asap

dont you guys wish you can call them instead it'll be a whole lots easier n cheaper.

Whenever my man was there he liked it better then county and i also liked the visiting better i have 2 kids and the cops would always give me a pohne at the end so i have more room....

My man liked it for the visits, but the program itself he did not like. Nor the dorm. He preffered the 6 man cell & 24 phone in County!

NCCF (PDC) is behind glass. No contact visits at all. The visits are an hour per weekend. I can be 30 mins. Sat & Sun. or a full hour either day. You can go to lasd.org to get all information that you need.

in medium north at pitchess visiting is behind glass. i think all county jails are over glass. state prisons alow u to sit with them and have contact. back to north facility, some guards can be rude and just grab the phone off ur loved one, others ill tell you to hang up. its allright though regarding visitation.

As far as a "jail" visit goes, I thought NCCF was good. It was a quick process, clean compared to many other places and for the 6 months that I went we never had any problem or issues with the sherrifs. Some would flash a light and then my husband knew our time was up. Some would annouce it.

I preferred wayside over la count jail! La county is nasty!

I LOVE PITCHESS!! it is so much nicer than the jails in downtown. Although, when riots go down in there THEY GO DOWN! i had my experience with my husband last year in the Febuary riots.

I use the pre-paid service and I haven't had any problems with it and I can get the calls on my cell phone.

Just call 800-483-8314 and they can set up a pre-paid service for your cell phone or landline. That's what i did when my boyfriend was still in L.A. county.

Do you know if they accept other type of ID's besides ca id, passport, and alien green card? I have a matricular from the mex consulate picture ID, do you think this is acceptable? oh and when visiting is it in person or through a glass window?

Yeah, they accept those I'Ds... And yeah it's through a glass window...
My man's in supermax, NCCF... There East Max, North and I think West not sure... But they'll tell you when you go up there to the window... Good luck...

Unless things have changed they are all glass visits. Min used to be through a chicken wire type fence but that was about 15 years ago.

I'm going to move this to the thread about Pitchess DC in the California County Jails forum. You should find all the answers you need there.

you need to set up an account with gtl. then he will be able to call your cell phone. my hubby is in supermax nccf visiting is only 30 min on sat and sun. and there behind glass. i usually get there at 6 am and out of there by 10. it takes me little less than an hour to get there i live in north long beach. i was there yesterday. they start processing at 8:30.

i usually find out when my man doesnt call and writes letting me know, they wont tell you if you call ive tried... But good luck trying...

is the 4th day he hasnt called i called information number and they told me they cant tell me nothing im worry is not like him to not call im so nervous is his first time in wayside what if he got hurt

I cannot wait to say the same thing. Mines IS in the hole now. I went to visit him today and he got put in the hole last night so he had his visiting privileges today because he is in pre-hole. I am sooo upset. He said they are more than likely going to give him 20+ days in there and he said he is horribly bored and that he was laying down when they put him in there. Tuesday when he sees the Sargent(sp) they will tell him the exact time. I dont even know what to do. I need to talk to my baby! It sucks but at least he can get mail from me. He just cannot send it out.
