HOw long did it take before you got a TPM? On the GDOC website, my husbands says N/A...not sure what that means.

Hey girl...
My fiance got his TPM after being in state custody for approx. 4 months :) Hope this helps! I know the Parole Board will tell you it takes 6-8 months for the case to be investigated and a TPM to be determined.

Oh ok...I was thinking that meant he wasnt eligilble or something....He hasnt been shipped from Jackson yet, but it should be any day or week now!

All the N/A means is that the Parole Board has not made a decision yet. The only time you should be concerned is when it says something like "Not Eligible for Parole". Ours said N/A for the longest time and then one day shortly after I had gone to visit my fiance for his birthday I looked and it had 5/2004 there. That was in mid May. About 2 weeks later we were given a scheduled release date when I called the Parole Board :)

Can you hear my sigh of relief! whew! He signed a 2-year waiver when he violated, so I wasnt sure what to think. He wrote me and said he wasnt going to do the whole 2 years, but when I saw that on the website, I kind of panicked. I guess I should just chill out and listen to my husband sometimes! LOL

LOL you are such a hoot!
I will never forget in the beginning when my fiance got sentenced to 3 years and he called and told me I thought I was going to fall out in the floor. He was like "just chill I am telling you I won't have to be in the whole time". Try telling that to a 4 month pregnant fiance at home with a 3 yr old! LOL I guess we should listen to them often, but we're women! We believe what we want, right? ;)

So how much time did he do on his 3 year sentence?

He served exactly 1 year and 5 days :)
Feel free to PM me anytime with questions you may have!

I think the time it takes to get the TPM also depends on the length of the inmate's sentence and which category they fall into.

For example, my fiance' fell under the 1/3 rule. Other's fall under the 90% rule.

This gives the Parole Board some way to determine time to work on the cases where the inmate should be released soon and then the cases for those who will be released years down the road. They also base it on how many prior offenses, etc.

My sons TPM stills N/A and it is making me crazy! He has been in the prison since August of 2003 and still no TPM. He has been gone from me since Sept. 26th, 2002. They gave him the time served in the county jail, but it still shows on the web site that he has been in since August of 2003. That makes it look like he went in long after he did. I thought they would put Sept. 2002 since they gave him time served. I wish that we would get a TPM, (especially with his brain injury) we were hoping that he would get released early than 2014.

Well it took us almost ywo years..............so it can take a while. He had a 6 year sentence, it was cut to 65%, so it was worth the wait. I don't have anything really negative to say about the pb yet until I see what they are going to do about this recent issue we have with them. I CAN say they are very inept. So send everything registered and keep good documentation.

Well I can tell you this much. Tony signed a two year waiver and we got our TPM this past weekend. He went to jail on Feb 12 and signed his waiver on Feb 18. Our TPM is Nov 2004. Maybe that will help you some because I see where you said he signed a waiver for 2 years also.
But if I may give you a little advice...Stay on top of things, make sure you know where his file is at all times and find out what is going on and what the next step is. Make lots of VERY nice phone calls. (Be sweet even when you feel like ringing someones neck!) Ask lots of questions!!!! That is what I had to do. It was like a full time job but well worth it cause his file did get lost once and I had to call and call and call till it was found and someone read some things out of it to me to prove to me that they had located it...lol But, there are a few nice people along the way that went out of thier way to help me. If you would like the names and numbers of these people PM me and I will be glad to disclose my connections to you...lol Anything I can do to help someone I will be more then glad to do because I know how you feel, I was there not that long ago and if it had not been for the ladies here and thier help and support I dont know what I would have done. Good luck!! (((((Hugs))))) Annette

Thanks...my husband signed the waiver May 12, so I guess now it is just the waiting game. Did your husband fall under 65% or 90%? My husband falls under the 90%, so I dont know if that makes a difference.
