Please use this thread to post any information that may be helpful to members in making travel arrangements. I know there are some really good sites out there. If you have a particular one that you use, or know of one that gives really good deals, please let us know.
I usually use Travelocity when I make my travel plans. I really haven't found any other ones that beat it. I'd love to know if there are any though! :)

If you're open to going anywhere for a vacation...and not looking for specific flights or something... http://top20.travelzoo.com is awesome! They have a mix of the 20 best deals on the internet, updated every Wednesday at noon. They'll have all inclusive cruises, with airfare to Europe, the carribbean, etc. Even cheap car rentals, ridiculously low airfare. Just keep an eye out for one from your city!

If I fly I use www.southwest.com (http://www.southwest.com/) I have to drive to Indianapolis to fly out, but I save on the average of 300.00 by driving 100 miles to the airport than if I flew out of Cincinnati.

I used Airtran to reserve my air ticket and I could have gotten a better deal with cheat tickets. They charge you $50 for every and any change you make. I'll never use them again. My cousin told me about them and I should have went with my first instinct. My first plane trip and I didn't get the best deal.

Skyauction.com. Once I got a cruise for my mom and me for $750.00. That was ocean view, 5 nights, taxes, port charges and trip insurance. The price was for BOTH of us, not each of us. To the western Caribbean. Also got a 2 bedroom, gorgeous condo in Puerto Vallarta for $300 total once. Six of us shared that one.

If you are traveling internationally, like Mexico, Caribbean, Europe and Cruises, call a travel agent. There job is to find you the best deals available, and they usually price match, plus they do all the work for you. This is also true when traveling to Disney World, Disney Land, Las Vegas and Hawaii. If you just need air and hotel domestically you can normally get the same prices travel agents get. A few good sites for domestic travel are sidestep, hotwire, expedia, orbitz, travelocity, priceline. Also when you find the best price for your airfare, go to the airlines public site and check the fare, most of the time it is a little cheaper. Good Luck, and travel as much as you can, it helps break the monotany of every day life.
