I was wondering if any of you knew how I could get ahold of an inmate rights lawyer.
A couple months ago my husband was stung by a bee in the courtyard and he is allergic. He went to the medical unit and told them he was starting to get really hot and sweaty and his throat was closing up and that he was allergic. They are suppose to have his medicine on hand incase he ever got stung, guess what they didnt have it, so they gave him benedryl instead and luckily it helped and he was alright.
Now My husband dislocated his finger and went to the medical room @ anamosa state pen and the doctor told him it wasnt bad enough to have an x-ray done. Eight days later they finally decided to x-ray it and determined that his finger was not only dislocated but a bone was broken off in his finger and cutting his tendens and muscle tissue. After about another week or week and a half they finally took him to Iowa City and discovered that he would have to have surgery now and have a metal rod put in his finger.
I think if they would have listened to him and taken time to treat him right away he would not have had to go in for surgery. Its been a week since they decided he needs to have surgery and well he will prolly have to wait another week or two to get back down to Iowa City.Grrrr !!!!!!
My husband said their is a really good inmate rights lawyer that does free services to inmates in Sioux City ( Obrien is his name I think). If anyone has any information on him or has used him or know if anyone else that is good, could you let me know names and numbers. I just really dont think my husband was treated with much concern, and it bothers me to know that he isnt getting the medical treatment he deserves. I understand its just a finger but what happens when its something even more serious, are they going to put that off too?
I pray nothing else will happen for a while, I swear he is like an accident waiting to happen, LoL
