I didn't know my brother most of my life, and I found him at Gus Harrison in MI some time ago.... We were writing religiously... he seemed very happy to receive my letters and sounded like he was a "model citizen" in prision...

Then a few months ago he just STOPPED writing.... wrote again telling me he had been in trouble, thus he coudln't write. Again, he's just STOPPED, so I'm assuming he's in trouble again.... is there any way I can find out what's going on? Can I call? Can I write to anyone? How can I be kept posted as to what's going on with my brother?

He's currently serving 10-35 *sigh*

Have you checked to see if he's been moved?? You can call his counselor, sometimes they will talk to you, sometimes its almost impossible to reach them. THey are not obligated to give you information.. but once you explain, they should give you some information or at least let him know you called and are concerned.

He may feel guilt about "screwing up again" and feel guilty. I don't know what kind of relationship you two have, but my best guess would be he's afraid he will lose contact with you again so he's pushing you away. THATS JUST A GUESS...but its a common thing to happen!

Good luck! Feel free to contact me privately if you need to discuss this further.

I think you should contact his counselor to find out whats going on. Maybe he did get moved...I don't think its that. He still could write you, and your mail would have been forwarded to him. I don't know what state he's in, but you can go to www.google.com (http://www.google.com), and type in whatever state he's in, and put dept of correction. It'll bring up the prisons website and you can search to see what prison he's in.
I pray that everything is going alright with your brother
