Does anyone know how often our guys (and gals) come up for reclassification and how many points they are eligible to drop per year (or reclassification period)? What is that based on? Can they have a certain amount of write-ups or none at all? I'm wondering when he might drop a level.

Thank you all (as always!) for the info.

I think they go up for reclassification every year, probably on the day and month that they got sent to that prison. As far as points dropping it depends on a few things. I know you cant have any 115's at all for a whole year if you wanna transfer to another prison so that might apply to dropping to another level. Hopefully somone will be along with all the correct answers!

Points are also lowered if he is married, graduated from high school, held steady employment for a certain amount of years, had any college education, special skills, etc. All of the above must be proved. I had to send in Cowboy's diploma, W-2's, our marriage certificate, college transcripts and a few other odds and ends. These are not automatically factored in and would have to be presented at his yearly classification. Although Tommy remains in a level 3 quad it has to do with his medical condition. If he were taken down to a low 1 level, he would have to be transferred out of the facility he is in. I had a copy of the criteria somewhere, I think I may have gotten it out of Title 15, but I can't remember for sure. Ask his counselor. They are not going to volunteer any information or help to lower his points for him. They could care less.

Thank you, sweetthang. I appreciate the info! I'd like to think my guy could go a year without getting a 115 but sometimes I wonder....

Keeping the faith,

PCH -

A "115" is a write-up or ticket for behavior that's against policy or, more seriously, an actual crime.

Not good to have in your jacket - but not always completely avoidable, either.

Okay, just for info, I read in another post by Gatekeeper that they are eligible to drop 6 points per year if they have a job and no 115's. Just thought y'all might want to know!

This is true my faincee's points just droped from 52 to 47 and now he can transfer to a level 3. I am very proud of him I know it must be hard not to lose your cool in there. level 4 yards have lots of drama and that means getting in trouble if you get a 115 you have to do another year to catch up so I know how hard it must be. if there is no violence on his record he can go all the way to a level 2 which is cool becuse the lower level he go's to the less the drama is. these guys want to better there self.

so yes mam everything they do go's by points. I hope I added to the infromation

take care and have a good day

Here is a link for the Title 15 online. Click on "Title 15". Then you can save it to your Favorites/Bookmarks for future reference. HTH ;)
