Hi there...I have to admit, I havent read much here yet. I just got a letter from my BF who is as Alhambra right now. He is in for AG DUI. He was in previously...but also for non violence. The woman doing his P/I Score gave him a 3-2!!! He has to have a 2-2 or below to go to a DUI yard! This lady told him that anyone with an honors degree should know better than to drink or drive. Touche! Of course that is true! But the judge got the order wrong and they let him out and HE TURNED HIMSELF back in before a warrant was issued.... that should say something for him. Anyway...he asked me to call the Phoenix Central Office to inquire about his score and complain if I have to....but I have NO IDEA what Phoenix Central Office is...or who to talk to... Does anyone have any experience with this?? HELP! This score of course is only the recommended score, but if it sticks then he has to go to a "controlled-movement" yard for a year before he is moved.... I want to help him...but I also dont want to get him in any more trouble... He is Ill..he needs treatment not prison....but of course that isnt my call. They do have the DUI yard for a reason..he isnt alone...he knows he has to do his time...he just wants to do it where his crime fits.... The lady who did his P/I didnt even talk to him....just critisized him for being a drunk driver.... Sounds like a bias to me.... Like he doesnt already know that he screwed up...:( :( Any help would be appreciated....Thanks.

public defenders are the worst kinda lawyers anyone can have, they dont care about the defendants at all and dont even try to fight for whats right. if you call the community information and referral line they can give you some phone numbers to volunteer lawyers and you can just get some advice on your situation. Just explain what you told us.

Central Office is Arizona Department of Corrections main office in Phoenix. They over see all facilities and actions.
My best advice is to review the informtion on their state website
http://www.adc.state.az.us
good luck

OK you guys probably think I am an idiot....but I need a little help understanding what some of the things on the site mean.... If anyone can take a look and help me...let me know!
On the topic that I was talking about initially, the classification did come out as a 3-2 but under classification override...it says 2. Which means they overrode which facility he goes to..... BUT i cant find where it tells me what facility he goes to... HELP! Also he is up for re-evaluation on 10/3 so would they put him in a higher security yard for such a short amount of time?? I am lost.... :slap: :help:

Hi Crys, okay if they overrode her recommendation to a 2 then he will go to a 2 yard. He is up every 6 mos for reclass. The score is called P/I , which is public/institutional. the I score can drop one point every 6 mos, the p score drops 1 point every 2 years. You will not know which 2 yard he gets to until central office decides, and they will probably tell you when they do, if you call. Go to the Adc website and look him up, then click on the left on classification faq's, all the way at the bottom there is a matrix that shows you all of the yards and you follow it by his score and it will show you his eligible yards. 2 yards are not bad, beleive me. We have never been that low, they would feel like Disneyland to my husband! :) on 2 yards it is free movement and lots of calls, all kinds of stuff that higher yards dont have. He should move soon, they dont keep that at Alhambra for long. God bless- Aimmo

:shake: Well.... I found an 800 number on their site and all it is is an automation....and it says he is still at alhambra.... Im going to dive in one more time and see if I can find a number that leads to an actual person....if not...I am just going to tell him...honey...you will have the info before me!! LOL.
OH...if they get reviewed every 6 months I wonder why his next review is 10/3/04?? That is realy weird.

He hasnt been that low either... he was a 4/2 the last time he was in.... that is why they are trying to make him 3/2 instead of 2/2 like most DUI's.... *sigh*
WE'll see.... fingers crossed for him....
