My husband Alan is in prison here in North Carolina and has been since 1999. He was sentenced under the Structured Sentencing Act so he has to mandatorally serve his minimum sentence. He isn't scheduled to be released until 2007. We have two little girls ages 6 and 9. I've been doing this alone for the past three and a half years and it is starting to take a toll on me (us). I love my husband with everything that I am and I would never think about leaving him at a time like this.....it's just getting to be quite difficult. I go to see him at least once a month (2 1/2 hour one way trip) and write him at least twice a week. Luckily he has made friends with the 'right' guard so he can call more frequently than most. He is in close custody so only allowed two calls a month. I guess what I am here for is some moral support from women who are walking in the same shoes as I. Any help is appreciated at this point.
