Hello Everyone! I am new to this, but would like to introduce myself. I have a boyfriend getting ready to be transferred to federal prison. I am wondering what kind of programs, if any, can he get involved in that may help reduce the time?
Thanks,
Crysrey

Hi Crysrey, welcome to PTO! There aren't to many programs that will reduce his time, except for RDAP,(residential drug abuse program)whitch can give you up to 12 months reduction, but the average is 8-9 months, and only if his crime is considered non-violent.there is also a suspended sentence he can apply for, here's the link.http://64.233.167.104/search?q=cache:wsmtDVCvPF0J:www.advocareflash.org/files/Motion_to_Modify_edited.doc+federal+suspended+sent ence&hl=en

Welcome to PTO Crysrey!
Glad you have joined us! Vince has answered your question above, but I would also like to add there is some legislation out there like the parole bill, that if passed could mean our loved ones could come home earlier! Look on the main federal prison forum page to the top...if you have any trouble let us know, we are here to help!

Welcome Crysrey -
I'm new and still learning about the Federal Prison system myself. I've found valuable information here and I'm sure you will too.
