I live for my mail. There are times when I get a letter more than a week after he sent it. I will end up with 5 letters all at once. I wish there was a way to enforce their mailroom's own policies ... just venting I guess.:)

Well.. you also have to consider when they mail their letters out. Mail that goes in the mail box on Friday afternoon probably will not go out until Monday because the mail room workers aren't there on Saturday and Sunday.

When My husband goes to a new prison he first asks around about when the mail goes out, then we experiment with it and get to know how that system works. He knows that if he mails a letter on Friday, it won't go out until Monday and I won't get it until Wednesday. He also knows if he mails me a letter on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, I'll get it in 2 days.

You also have to take holidays into consideration... when a holiday falls on Monday, then a letter put in the mailbox on Friday-Monday won't go out until Tuesday.

Set up a system so you will know when to expect a letter - that way disappointment doesn't set in!

HE should also put a date on the envelope as to when he puts it in the mail box.. if they are holding mail more than a day or so then maybe a well placed letter to the prison would be in order!!

You are a lucky woman :D :D :D My husband writes to me several times a day, but only mails a letter once a week! I take what I can get as well! :thumbsup:

YEA, U HAVE TO REMEMBER THAT MAIL DOESN'T GO OUT EVERY DAY.

Yeah, I know all about planning what days I should get it and that it only goes out 5 days a week. I've been doing this for 13 years. My problem comes in when he goes under investigation for something silly and they have to read every piece of mail. Then I end up getting 5 and 6 all at once. I just like knowing what's current with him.

I get mail twice a week no matter how often he sends them. It sucks to get four letters after waiting days on end - but it's better than getting no mail at all! My letters to him take 20 days even though the actual postal journey to the prison is only 2 days. That really sucks!!

My mail has always been quite consistant. It usually takes only 2 days either way; as long as it's not mailed on a weekend.

I get bout 1 letter a week.. it takes 2 days for his to get here, but 3 for him to get mine, so sometime we get a little confused, but try to stay on track... I rarely ever get 2 at once.. but when I do, I get a little happy.. lol
