California Training Facility is in Soledad and houses level 1 and 4 inmates

Salinas Valley Prison is aslo in soledad and houses level 2 and 3 inmates

Both if I recal correctly are just south of San Luis Obispo and they are seperate facilities.

Are on the same property, but are two different facilities. However, for visitation purposes, you park in the same parking lot. For CTF Visiting, you park in the lot and walk up to the main entrance building. For Salinas Valley, you have to wait in line in what looks like a bus shelter and they have buses (10 passenger) busses that take you up to Salinas Valley. That was as of 2001 when I used to visit up there, things have probably changed since then. Hope that helps.

Yes......on the same property, but separate prisons.
Salinas.....cant bee seen from the street......CTF is the prison you see when you are in the parking lot.......just look straight ahead. The visiting center is in the building where you see the flag pole. Just ask......everyone is very helpful!!
