My fiance who is incarcerated would like to know whether the federal pre-trial services officer he had while he was on pre-trial release will be his probation officer upon his release from prison. Or is it usually a different person? Thanks!

No, it won't be a pre-trial release person. I know that in my district the probation officers who prepare PSI reports rotate their positions and sometimes serve as probation officers for those on supervised release.

Welcome to PTO  pre-trial is a totally different department from probation,I wish it wasn't though,I've got the nicest lady for pre-trial.

My pretrial officer will not be my PO when I get my time served. I know who the PO will be but only because I live in a small town and my pretrial officer told me who it would be.
