My name is Cathy. My ex-husband/now friend/possible future mate again is at Terminal Isl. FCI. He will be there for about 24 more mos. PTO has been an invaluable source of information for me and has answered many of my questions. It has been difficult for him to write, as he is still in semi-shock from the outcome of his sentencing (thought he'd get probation), so I do not really know anything about the facility he is in.

I am also an Oregon native and live about 35 mi. from Sheridan FCI, so I do know a lot about the State. :thumbsup:

Where is Terminal Isl FCI? Too bad he could not have gone to Sheridan.... but that seems to be the way.

JJT - Terminal Isl. is in S. Calif. not far from Los Angelas. The judge recommended Sheridan, but for some reason, he was first transferred to Taft FCI (near Bakersfield) then to Terminal Isl. He said it had something to do with available bedspace. All of his family/children and friends are in the Pacific Northwest, and visiting him will be an impossibility for them. It will be more of a possibility for me. Terminal Isl. is about 950 mi. from where I live, so any visiting will involve much preparation. I am not familiar with the area and am not too keen on going down there, because the area seems rather intimidating to me. I guess I'll just have to incorporate a trip to Disneyland at the same time. :)

Thank you all for the warm welcome. I have appreciated reading all of the material, and have sat here several nights with tears running down my cheeks. It is so comforting to know that there are others out there who really understand - the nights get awfully long sometimes.

my fiance hase just been sentenced to terminal island and thaught he was going to sheridan aswell. I live in portland oregon. I am not all that eduacated on the ways of the prison system but am learning very fast. keep me posted on things you find out. My best wishes to you and your loved ones.
