My husband got parole violated and was sent back to serve 11 months. He had charges pending while doing his violation time. He went to court on the pending charges and was sentenced to 7 years to be ran concurrent. He only has 8 more years left to do . Since those 7 years are ran concurrent does that mean that the 7 years will add on to the 8 years to make it 15 and he will be able to come home after he finishes serving the 11 months? I guess what I am wanting to know is how does the concurrent sentencing work?

concurrent means: at the same time. consecutive means: in a row. In other words, if a person got two sentances: one for 7 years and one for 8 years and they were to run concurrently, that means he will be out after 8 years. If he got that same sentance and they were to run consecutively-- he would be out after 15 years.

So basicly what you are saying is that the discharge date does not chwilange, but the te/pe date will?
