Ok well let me just say I am so mad.. I called a month or so ago and was told that my husband had been interviewed and that the parole was still pending. Then I called a week later and they said looks like a 2 yr set off. So naturally I was pissed.

Then I go see Ant this weekend and he said he has NEVER been interviewed so I said I would call on Monday and find out what is going on. After 6 calls and 6 people and there supervisor. Then I finally go this answer.

The file was pulled for review (again) on 12-3-02 so the unit parole officer should have it soon. No apology no nothing just hung up.. I was so mad.. SO now maybe ant does have a chance we will see what happens in the next few months..

Funny a 4 month process in Texas has surpassed the 4 months and is now heading toward the 6th month.. SO we will see how long it is going to take.....:fb: :pissed: :fb:

YES...i think they lie mostly to make their lives easier, to get people off their back quickly...you know, they tell you what you want to hear so that they will go away...

hate to say it, but i think some lie because they are just plain mean.

this is not my week to be optimistic.

No, I don't think they do it for a specific reason. I think they do it for sport, because they are too lazy to do the right thing, etc..

I hope the best for you. Hopefully he gets his interview soon. I know the feeling waiting for the parole board. I think they lie because they get a kick off other peoples misery. They suck.

remember when it unit officer looks at the folder, then they have 3 weeks to get the folder to the parole board then they have up to 3 months of the date of parole. let me explain case in point: my husband date is march 2003, i have a attorney for him. he saw his unit officer in october she then sent the file to angleton the folder sits in the office were the sec. are until january, then one baord member can take up to one month each to review the folder they have until march to decide. we are trying for a f1 which gives me a date, f2 tells me he has to wait until parole and huntsville finish the paperwork. that is when you ride their asses. you can ask to meet with the board only 2 people are allowed and must be un their list. also, we have found people with out attorneys dont get heard a much they dont have someone fighting infront of their faces. have you sent a parole folder to the board yet?? you need to get this folder out asap and only send it to the board they well be reviewing not the unit officer.

DOES TEXAS GIVE YOU THE OPPORTUNITY TO GO MEET WITH THE PAROLE BOARD? MOST STATES DO I THINK. IF THEY DO, TAKE SOME OF YOUR FRIENDS AND GO VISIT THEM. TAKE ALL CERTIFICATES AND OTHER INFORMATION THAT ANTHONY HAS ACOMPLISHED OVER THE LAST FEW YEARS. GET LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION FOR PAROLE FROM ALL PEOPLE YOU KNOW. TAKE PETITIONS WITH YOU.... AND ESPECIALLY, WHEN YOU SIT DOWN WITH THEM, INSURE YOU TELL THEM THE TRUTH ABOUT EVERYTHING. ALSO, TELL THEM HOW MUCH YOU LOVE ANTHONY AND HOW YOU SEE HIS PERSONALITY AND HOW YOU FEEL HE WILL BE ABLE TO RESPOND TO RE-ENTERING SOCIETY....
AND MOST IMPORTANT. HAVE A WRITTEN RE-ENTER PLAN THAT STATES WHERE HE WILL LIVE AND ALSO JOB PLANS IF YOU CAN GET THEM.

FIRST STEP, CALL THE PAROLE BOARD IN THE CAPITOL OF YOUR STATE. ASK THEM WHAT THEIR PROCESS IS FOR FAMILILY AND FRIENDS TO VISIT BEFORE INMATE COMES UP FOR PAROLE.

no we do not have that oppertunity in texas it is all done via paper and getting an interview or to talk with the parole board is a easy task.. They do there reviews all from the file.. no personal interest.. guess that is how they sleep at night. no crying wife or family members..

no he is actually an s3 which is trustee.. he has been for over one year... so i am not sure what is going on.. seems like they keep them in there until they mess up...

still no word on the interview.. i saw him this weekend and he is just frustrated as am I...

shortie. re read the post i sent back on the 1 st page. you can meet with the board you have to get at least one member to meet you . you are allowed to go, and one family member with you. you need to call the board were his file is. did you send a packet ( pictures, family children, vehicles, your home were he is coming to, and any cerft. he has from taking classes.put all of this in a packet and send to the board who has his file. also send letters from family members.

also shortie you need to have anthony send for a request for a board member to meet him. because they dont go to there office , that is what the unit officer is for, he/she talks to anthony before they send the folder out.But you need to ride their asses, if you dont they think one cares. a friend of ours called the board everyday and asked for the board to meet her husband and he is going home this month. i have been told by our attorney that hunstville main units are harding to get a meeting because of the amount of people they have up there, and are seeing . what unit is he on?

thanks for the help I am going to start on this first thing monday most of them will be out of the office but I have a fax machine that will take a message for them.. I am nortous for buggin the mess out of the TDCJ.... I pray this will work.. So far no interview either.. I saw him this weekend and they have not given him a layin to the parole officer's office.. SHORTIE-the 1 step is -anthony gets a lay in to meet with the unit officer, they talk then the officer tells him his folder is going to the board. when is his date? 2- the folder sits 3 months before his release date, one board member will look at the folder then make a choice, then another board member looks at the folder, if both members agree then the 3rd does not have to look at the folder. if neither of the members agree then the folder is looked at by the 3rd member, texas is making the board member make a choice when in 3 months of the release date. did you get a folder packet ready? dont fax they well never see the papers. put a packet together, and then mail to the board in his region. were is he at? you need to get the packet asap out. texas is one of the hardest states to get out of. what i am telling you comes from our attorney i paid for. johns folder is sitting right now. the board will not come back till after jan. 2. so you have time to get everything together. pm me or call if you have any other questions i have the forms to go bye for the packets. rember the book you wanted for parole had how to write the letters, the amn who wrote that book is on the same unit has my husband he well be released in november of next year parole agreed to release him he went before the board in nov.

Well his date is december 2002. You see that is why I am so upset. He was set to have a layin with the unit officer back in Sept and something was missing. It was just put in the folder and was re pulled on 12-3 for review. So we are behind on schedule.. I am trying to figure this all out it is over wheming and frustrating. One thing I've learned is to not wonder "Why" Most of the things in the prison system don't make any sense. I am sorry that happened to you... I think many of them are just mean for no reason.

FOR DWI. HE HAS SERVED 2YRS 6 MONTHS ALREADY THAT IS OVER HALF HIS TIME. HIS LAST REVIEW CAME UP IN SEPT. 2002 AND THEY SET HIM OFF FOR 1 MORE YEAR, THAT WILL MAKE HIM SERVE 3YRS 6MONTHS. BUT I WAS TOLD THAT I COULD APPEAL HIS PAROLE MYSELF SO THAT IS WHAT I AM GOING TO DO. I CANT AFFORD AN ATTY. BUT I HAVE A FRIEND THAT IS A RETIRED JUDGE AND HE WILL HELP ME I AM SURE. I HAVE FOUGHT THE TDC SYSTEM FROM DAY ONE AND HAVE NOT GIVEN UP YET AND DONT INTEND TO, I HAVE A 3 INCH NOTEBOOK AS MY SONS FILE AND I KEEP AND POST EVERYTHING I DO, EVERY PHONE CALL, PERSON NAME,DATE,TIME OF CALL AND CONVERSATION. MY HUSBAND WENT TO VISIT OUR SON ONE SUNDAY, WHEN HE GOT BACK HOME, HE SAID HE WAS NOT AT THE UNIT ANYMORE, I CALLED MONDAY MORN. THEY TOLD ME HE WAS AT HUNTSVILLE, I CALLED UP THERE, THEY SAID NO HE WAS NOT UP THERE, I TOLD HER TO NEVER MIND I WOULD FIND HIM MYSELF. I FOUND HIM THAT MORNING, HE HAD BEEN SENT TO THE GALVESTON HOSPITAL BECAUSE OF A BAD TOOTH INFECTION. I TALKED TO THE WARDEN DOWN AT THE HOSPITAL AND THEY SAID HE WAS DOING FINE. Well I know that texas lies they told me my husband had a 2yr set off and then I raise hell because how could he be set off without ever being interviewed. So I knew they were lying. I get to frustrated sometimes. I know they are overworked but damn just say you don't know.

Ant has still not been interviewed and we are waiting.. Until then I am continuing to collect support letters and do all that I can ..

shortie: it is me again. go to texas dps website and get a copy of your husband conviction record. i ran onw on my husband and they made a mistake!!!! they have my husband down for 1 misd class a & 1 class a felony. he plead to 2 class a misd. and in texas you can have misd. on parole. but again it is up to the po officer to revoke. so i have ordered a file from tyler court house to get copies and have the mistake changed. i found out this is why my husband got 2 2 year set offs. the were seeing the felony. the attorney is taking the papers with us to the board and show them the mistake.

I really don't know where to start, first some background. I spent 18 calander years in TDC, was quilty, and believe this, the TDC system is ment to contain, nor help any person confined in the system. I was turned down for parole 9 times, and 8 and a half years after the last interview they came and told me to be ready to chatch the chain the next morning. After all that time! On the 10th of January 1990 I was released and sent to a half way house in Houston. My home is in DALLAS!! My parents and family live in Dallas. Why Houston? Well fourteen and a half years later I still don't have an answer. The system exist as a means of employment for those uneducated individuals who can not find employment elsewhere. The entire system is mismanaged, uninformed and unconserned to the needs of those who most need their help. The system needs reform and about the only way that will happen is mass protest through the media, to local officials, (state congressmen and legislators), and what ever means that are available. The elected officials will listen because they want your vote. Pick a grevience, put out here for us to read, let us pick one thing at a time and work it out for the benifit of every one concerned.

I appoligize for the actions of the prison boards actions. Not because of who they are but for what they are supposed to be.:twocents:

I think they do it for the simple reason that THEy have no idea what it feels to be in prison or to have a loved one in prison. it is a lac of sympathy or empathy. A lot of people in Administrative Positions love their weight and authority over other people's lives. it gives them a sense of control and superiority.

Not all of them feel that way and from time to time God will make a miracle happen from the hands of the person we least expect it from. but that is Divine Intervention, not someone's natural sense of humanity or correctness oir consciousness.

wondering if anyone has had this happen, we had parole lawyer for SO review, we had 4 yes fI18 votes and 2 NR votes, when file got to huntsville, the head of board voted NR and they now tell us instead of majority, we have to have 2/3. the lawyer asked to meet with last voting memeber and was told they had all infor needed. this is new to me, just curious if anyone has had this situation thank

okay - get this one. My baby was given an fi2 last sept. parole officer came to all 3 parole address and all 3 were denied. - so now what do i do. he has to be at least 500yrds from any park, school, rec center, church. So now what? I don't know anybody that is willing to let him use their address as his address. I have power of atty for him, so if all else fails, i'll get an apartment in his name, but I will ask the po first before i go do that.
