Hi everyone:

Im so excited cause my hubby will be going into a halfway house in sept.

I have a couple of quesitons for those experts out there:

1) what is allowed in the halfway house, (ex., clothes, toothbrush, underwear, etc.)?

2) what is the earlist time that one is released to go to the halfway house, i heard 8am or 9am do anyone know??

3) how long will he have to be in before they let him come out to look for work??

4) can he call from inside the halfway house?

5) can i call him to the halfway house?

Oh i appreciate any thoughts or comments,

Thanks a bunch.

Hi, I saw that you had posted that your husband will be coming home soon! Congratulations to both of you.

I do want to move your thread to the Federal Forums though, for I feel that you will receive a fast response there.

Again, Congratulations and stay strong,

Patti

I’m not sure if each state is different in what they allow.

Here in Oregon my Husband is in a Federal Halfway house.

He can have all the clothes he wants no wire hangers.
He has his own TV VCR dvd. Can not have aerosol products or anything with alcohol in them. He was able to get visits there at the house the same day I drooped him off there. And they have pay phones he can call right away. Job search was 24 hours after being there. You can call him there too. After he starts his job search they gave him a 24-hour pass home, once he finds work he will get 48 hours. Then they put in the papers for home confinement. These people are pretty linnet, here though. Because a lot of the stuff that is in the papers we got rules and such are totally different.
So I hope this helps and I pray that the people there in NY help the transition for your husband smooth.
Oh ya congrats on his soon to be home coming!!!
