My husband told me last night when we talked that he has to go through the ART - Aggression Replacement Therapy program prior to his going to the board in 2+ years. Is anyone familiar with the specifics of this program?

Is anyone familiar with the specifics of this program? Manzanita 07-28-2004, 08:36 AM yes, my husband did it, and he is a ART facilitator now for a few years, that's his "job" there...sometimes he gets stressed from it, because the guys go in there very angry and do not want to resolve it. he should do as many programs as he can, all lof them, in ART they put you in groups and do like role playing, discussions, you also act out in front of a camera and then watch yourself...he learned a lot from it and he finds it also helpful to help other guys too. Some take it as a joke and learn nothing, it is up to him. Ronnie 07-29-2004, 03:05 AM Thanks for the info. He has taken all of the programs except this one. His counselor just told him a few days ago that this is his last one to take prior to going to the parole board. He has learned and grown so much from the experiences of all of the programs. Manzanita 07-31-2004, 05:19 PM I would say to everyone, that the inmate should do any and all programs at the facility, so they cannot tell you anything at the board, or release time, or refuse your frp visits. |
