Hi everyone,
I have just joined this forum- what a great resource. I am currently doing research about women in the prison system in Canada - with a particular focus on how women develop and continue relationships with lovers/husbands/children/family during their incarceration and afterwards. I had been looking for a place that would offer real experiences and insights, and believe so far this is the best place I have found.
I am an independent documentary filmmaker and have worked on a number of films about social and cultural issues including a film about Canadians in foreign jails a few years ago.
I would very much like to do a documentary film about prison life in Canada for women - both young and old - so any input/suggestions/advice/ideas anyone has would be gratefully accepted.
I'd be happy to tell you more about my interest in this topic at anytime as well.
Thank you kindly.

Hi everyone,
I've already posted once under the Canada Forum, but I wanted to find out more about pen pal relationships specifically so I thought I'd come here and post as well.
I'm a documentary filmmaker in Ontario (Canada) currently doing research about women inmates who are trying to find/maintain love while they are incarcerated (and ultimately after they are released). I'd love to hear from anyone who has a romantic relationship with a female inmate. Ideally I'd love to hear stories within Canada - but any stories/experiences are welcomed.
I'm just gathering research at the moment so any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Allison
I would like to help you out and you can pm me. what type of info are you looking for?
