View Full Version : Pictures of Drug Addicts
iznam3 07-27-2004, 07:33 AM I am curious if anyone knows any links with pictures of drug addicts and the effects the drugs cause to a person. (post mortem included) I want to print them out and show my boyfriend what drugs can do to a person physically. A reality check of sorts.
I know this sounds really gross, and I apologize if this offends anyone, it wasn't meant to.
iznam3 07-27-2004, 09:27 AM Here is a pic that I found on-line. It's a before and after picture of a meth user.
Moodysgirl 07-27-2004, 09:40 AM That's rough stuff.
If you go to smokinggun.com you can pull up photos of celebrities--their mug shots actually. The recent one of Glen Campbell is quite unsettling. However, be aware that deterants such as showing such types of photos are typically not effective with those who are already in the throws of hardcore use/addiction.

johnnyraysgirl 07-31-2004, 09:34 AM Cali sunshine...my ol man's brother has that flick on his fridge. He's in a drug program/transitional living. I am also in the same program. That's what can happen to you in 6rs., if using drugs. It's a shame what us addicts do to our bodies/our families.:(

iznam3 09-30-2004, 06:23 AM Wow that is an interesting website Shelby.
Not to make light of the subject, but has anyone ever noticed the bad haircuts on these addicts? That should alone, be grounds for arrest.
supremom 09-30-2004, 07:29 AM lol
Eric's Homegirl 09-30-2004, 10:13 AM Does anyone know of a website that shows Heroin Addicts and photos? My
younger sister died from a o.d. of Heroin and it was gruesome to look at her
at the morgue. I haven't found any sites for Heroin Addicts and what they
look like after years of abuse, so if any of you can help, that would be great!
Thanks, Suzi
ChandaMija 09-30-2004, 02:39 PM Uhhhh....... I alone can decipher if one person is most likely an addict or not. Their skin will be uneven in color with small freckles all over their faces and upper chest. Some skin sores are unexplained like they pick at their skin but there weren't any zits! I guess they just feel tweaky and itchy for some reason! Or maybe they're staph? (shrugs) Their cheeks are USUALLY thinner. It's weird how their waist sizes are smaller in inches than their butts! Yup... And they have this certain look in their eyes full of innocent guilt. They will do ANYTHING to get high... even if that means borrowing money or stealing from a person they think they LOVE the most! For those who uses white stuff for less than a year, they will acquire that certain look in their eyes but look the same physically prior to using drugs.
ChandaMija 09-30-2004, 02:41 PM Ahem. And they walk a certain way like they had sex for 48 hours straight. Yep.....
sweetpea 09-30-2004, 02:54 PM Ahem. And they walk a certain way like they had sex for 48 hours straight. Yep.....
I"m sorry, but which addict are you referring to here???

Wow all those websites were very um, educational to say the least. Suzi Q I searched for pictures for you but couldnt find any, I"ll look when I get home....too bad my baby has all of our old pictures or you would have slapped me silly when you saw them; I sent him the copies of all our old times but got rid of them at home, couldnt stand to see them around.
Blondie, of course we all thought we looked fabulous, didnt we (I'm sure I looked in the mirror everyday and thought the same thing!)!?!?! I know I did, until I saw the pics - I am a tiny person, but when you take off 15-20 pounds from an already petite woman you have almost nothing left! Icky...we were only blind and fooling no one but ourselves! (Not like we would listen to anyone else!! :p )
Retired-26 09-30-2004, 03:07 PM omg cali!! that was horrifying!!!!
johnnyraysgirl 11-11-2004, 08:42 AM Hi Eric's homegirl :) I'm a recovering Heroin addict and was wondering if anyone sent you of pictures of heroin addicts? If so, could you either post it here or pm me? Thank you :)
impoohbearsgirl 11-11-2004, 03:15 PM PM me and I"ll give you my on drugs pics versus now :lol
For some reason I couldn't get the links to work for me.
Are you all saying that all addicts have the same type of physical changes? My guy said he can tell a drug addict by a yellowish color in the whites of the eyes, like at the bottom lid. His ex seems to be back on heroin and is now thinner than their 13 yo daughter.
When I was in college we would laugh about a certain walk of people who smoke a lot of "weed". Their heels come up funny as they walk.
Shelby 01-18-2006, 06:17 PM CET,
That's one of the problems with just being able to post links, if the carrier removes the article or the picture the links no longer work. Here are a few that work as of today.

moniqueSC 01-18-2006, 09:46 PM so sad
witchlinblue 01-18-2006, 11:46 PM The original links didnt work because this thread was started quite some time ago. Shelby's links are good examples and if anyone is looking for more I can send them some via email though I need to know which drug the person is addicted too.
Ruddsgrl1 01-19-2006, 01:50 AM is upon them. I don't do drugs never have. My Boyfriend is happy about that too he has dabbled with drugs, but he is only addicted to alchohol unfortunately which isn't much better and alchohol can age you early I have seen it happen as well as smoking cigarettes(which I do unfortunately) But I am glad my sweetie isn't a meth user thank god!
Wendy aka Ruddsgrl1
thanks Shelby. This is amazing. Some differences are weight loss, messed up hair, no make up but the SKIN! wow! meth really breaks the skin down and the skin color looks so terrible.
flamered 01-19-2006, 10:25 PM http://www.iwantrecovery.com/addicted/methpictures/methamphetamine_users.htm (http://iwantrecovery.com/addicted/methpictures/methamphetamine_users.htm)
witchlinblue 01-19-2006, 10:56 PM flamered there was something wrong with that link so I fixed it for you.
Those pictures are not actually all Meth addicts and some of them have been going around previously prior to the meth craze hitting the media and were instead used as crack addict pictures. Not all of them but some of them.
Regardless, they are the faces of addiction and its very hard to tell the difference between a meth and a crack addict unless you spend a bit of time talking to them. There are many faces of addiction and some of them you wouldnt always know they are an addict. For example some of the pharma drugs do not make it obvious but they are addicted to a deadly drug.
This is a great thread !!!!
JazzyJFL 08-12-2006, 02:46 PM This is so sad. I am speechless right now. I pray for those that are addicted to any type of drug. Be Blessed!!
mrschris 12-11-2006, 09:52 PM this stuff looks almost unreal...it's painful to even imagine.
mia_101 12-11-2006, 10:02 PM How much of this is reversable if you quit the drug?
NaievNewlywed 12-14-2006, 08:05 PM mia 101,
Which drug? I can tell you that as far as meth - most of the physical effects are reversable, however 'meth mouth' often can not be reversed. Depending on the length and amount of use, the teeth are not salvagable.
My hubby is getting ready to come home from a 17 month stay .... he's had 7 teeth pulled since being incarcerated, and sad to say, looks like he will have to have the rest pulled and fitted for dentures.
Some meth users get terrible sores that they constantly pick at. This can leave nasty scars too.
When quitting, the complexion will clear up and they will gain weight. The hair becomes less like straw as their body replenishes nutrients.
I hope this info has helped.
mrschris 12-14-2006, 08:44 PM what about the skin and the discolorations that come along with drug use, such as in the teeth, the eyes, fingernails? i see alot of yellowing in these places, probably from liver malfunction. if it's jaundice like it should clear up, right?
naiev, how old is your husband? are the effects reversable more quickly if the user is younger?
i saw the pictures posted here...i can't believe some of them...they look totally fake.
NaievNewlywed 12-14-2006, 09:26 PM mrschris,
I've honestly never really noticed his eyes or fingernails. I would assume that would clear up as well when there is nutrient replenishment. I didn't notice his eyes or fingernails that much when we were together...now they look fine.
His teeth - he can forget. I do know people who haven't lost their teeth - have had a lot of dental work done like capping and whitening.
Here are some pics of my hubby. The first one was 1 week after he was arrested (luckily he wasn't a picker). The second one is a little over a year later.
Edited to say - you'll notice the first one - he has kind of a pasty gray tint to his skin. The second he now has that healthy glow back. You can also see in the second how bad his teeth are.
NaievNewlywed 12-14-2006, 09:29 PM Also - one of the physical side effects that you don't see (and has not returned to 'normal' and looks like it won't) is that his body was so malnurished and dehydrated for so long, that his digestive system doesn't work right.
He has to take metamucil 3 times a day - and again - he's only 28.
mistybluewaters 12-21-2006, 06:00 PM sure wish i knew how to get those pretty clitters and blinkers .i have tried just can figure it out ..
mytoyheart 12-21-2006, 07:20 PM Does anyone know exactly why meth users end up with such bad teeth, besides being unhealthy? All addicts are pretty much unhealthy but the bad teeth isn't such an issue with other types of addicts. What's up with that?
Also, does anyone have any ideas why it always says I do not have authority to view the pictures that are linked to the messages?
NaievNewlywed 12-21-2006, 07:39 PM Mytoyheart - not sure about the pictures, but I can tell you a couple of theories on 'meth mouth'.
At first, it was thought that only addicts who smoked meth had bad teeth. It could then be attributed to having the chemicals on your teeth.
Then it was said it was just lack of hygene. They were too busy tweaking to take care of their teeth.
Take that and add it to the fact that when a meth user is coming down, all they want to consume is sugar. Candy, sweets, soda, etc.
The latest I've heard, is it's due to the lack of saliva in their mouth. Meth dehydrates the body and causes a serious case of cotton mouth. Your saliva contains enzymes that help cut down on bacteria - especially when you swallow. If there's no saliva, any bacteria just sticks.
I would also think that it may have to do with malnutrition and loss of calcium. Most of hubby's teeth rotted from the inside out starting at the bone.
I think if you factor in all of them, you get a pretty nasty collection of problems.
The first one, as far as only meth users that smoke it, I don't buy only because hubby was slamming it.
mytoyheart 12-21-2006, 10:29 PM Thanks for the post, makes sense....also, do you know if they always pull the teeth, do they ever try to save them and fill them instead?
JamiesFeatherwood 12-21-2006, 11:13 PM My son was a meth head and thank the good lord for putting him in jail and drying him out. Since he has been home he is now 10 months clean and drug free. his skin cleared up , he put his weight back on, color in his cheeks. luckily he didnt use it long enough to get bad teeth but he was well on his way. meth is the worst drug to overcome or so they say. Im proud he has stayed away from it since he has been home.
NaievNewlywed 12-25-2006, 04:52 PM JamiesFeatherwood - please tell your son CONGRATULATIONS on 10 months clean! That is GREAT!
mytoyheart - yes, they do try to save them. In my husband's case, since they rotted from the inside out, it was pretty much too late. They did try to fill a few, using way more filler than any normal cavity, but eventually had to pull them.
He still needs a LOT of dental work - I forsee dentures in his very near future - at 28 years old.
beckbeth 11-12-2007, 12:00 AM I'm new and just checkin everything out. Why can I not see the pictures that are show in teh replies? Does anyone know? I've activated my account and all so what is the problem? Thanks in advance.
viclovesiv 11-12-2007, 01:13 PM beckbeth u only have 2 posts and u should have at least 25 or 2 weeks as a member.
ohwhatacruise 11-12-2007, 01:55 PM Arizona Meth Project has billboards all over my county (Cochise) with meth heads with sores, scabs and just so gross looking..My neighbor is 52 yrs old a meth addict for 10+ years, has lost his mind totally but never can get put into jail..Pulls guns on cops charges are dropped, wrecks his truck 3 X finally loses his license but he was driving down the road yesterday..since he will not "quit" we are all hoping he just dies before he kills someone innocent..Sad but maybe AZ Meth project may have a website they have the most gruesome billboards with great sayings on them..meth is the drug of choice in my area and it is ruining lives daily, so sad...
If your friend wants to sober up maybe they will go get professional help but otherwise he/she probably personally knows addicts with sores, disease etc..that is not enough to make them stop..they have to wake up on their own..My inmate honey Tommy, he was on heroine/coke/crack for so long he had a 28" waist at 6 ft, weighed 130 lbs when he got arrested..it took PRISON to sober him up..he had just been to 18 months of in house rehab completed it successfully and STIll went out and back to the drugs and the streets, was living in a park..when he got arrested...SO try to get your friend Professional treatment...so sad I know, hope it works out for you.
ohwhatacruise 11-12-2007, 01:57 PM DId not see this was a 2+ yr old post sorry...
beckbeth 11-21-2007, 11:04 PM Thank you I am so new and just learning. Everyone is so very nice on these boards. It is so nice that there are these kinds of boards that exist. To help each other out through these hard times. Stay strong :-)
beckbeth 11-21-2007, 11:07 PM DId not see this was a 2+ yr old post sorry...
me neither....... I just have people I know that i want to get a message to. Meth is so bad in our area. I have seen so many great people, hard working and wonderful moms and dads fall into meth's hand's of death. I will pay better attention to the dates.
flamered 11-24-2007, 01:28 PM Most of the time the info around here has no expiration date & when someone finds an older thread & posts to it, it brings that thread back to life & shares the info with even more people.
Welcome to pto!
ChicosgrrlinCO 11-26-2007, 06:28 PM I'm just SO HAPPY myself nor my BF never touched meth.
Leelee33 04-22-2008, 11:03 AM I'm new to all this. I am very curious seeing before & after pics. I know someone that did meth for awhile. They are clean now.....ALL I CAN SAY IS IT'S AMAZING WHAT DRUGS TO YOU & YOU NEVER EVEN REALIZE IT!!
whiz-bang 04-22-2008, 04:57 PM This is a thread that should never die.
Take it from a guy who has been doing drugs since the late 50s: Methamphetamine is the worst drug commonly available to Americans.
If only it made people fat . . .
janie1976 04-22-2008, 06:24 PM Does anyone know exactly why meth users end up with such bad teeth, besides being unhealthy? All addicts are pretty much unhealthy but the bad teeth isn't such an issue with other types of addicts. What's up with that?

Meth users end up with bad teeth cause the chemicals in the meth. Also it makes alot of people grind there teeth while they are on it and they dont realise how bad they are grinding that is why you see some people who use meth will have a pacifier afterwards so they can chew on the pacifier instead fo grinding there teeth. Dont feel bad that you brought up an old post sometimes it is good to bring attention to a subject like this even if it is bringing up an old post some new people do not look at it like an old post cause they was not here when it was posted.
Maybe this thread should be a "sticky"!!!
LeslieCA 04-23-2008, 08:47 PM When there is tooth loss, there is bone loss as well, so the jaw begins to deteriorate. The loss of jaw bone mass really ages the face.
