When David and I first started talking on the phone I really had no experience with the procedures. I think it was our 4th convo on the phone and the recording would come on..asking me to press 5 to accept or press 7 and I could block the calls(which I did not know at the time). Well I pressed 5 and nothing happened and the recording came on again, but I couldn't make out what they were saying so I pressed 7 not knowing what I was doing. Next thing I know the recording said I had blocked futured phone calls from this inmate.
(funny how that came through nice and clear!) I was like noooooo!!! :) Well goofy me, not knowing much, decided to look up the federal pen he was in and find the number, which I then called and talked to the guard who answered the phone..I actually explained to him what happened and told him that I did not want to block his calls. The guard was very nice and proceeded to tell me that an inmate knows if the caller is going to push 7 and most likely hung up before I did, which then would mean his calls would not be blocked, I then asked him "well what if he didn't". He then explained to me I could call David's worker and explain it to him and he could see about clearing it up. Since it was late he told me that he was not in and gave me the number to get ahold of him. The guard then told me to hold off on calling and see if David calls first. Well David did call and he did hang up before I pushed 7.....not only that I told him about calling the prison and well to say the least....David had such a good laugh off of it. He thought I was cute!!! LOL Yeah real cute.. I was embarrased. Anyway, I thought it was nice of the guard to explain it to me, even though he probably thought I was a goof! :)
