Does anyone know what is like at Arrendale State Prison in GA. My best friend/ex-boyfriend is there? Any info could help me- this is all so new to me.

At one time Lee Arrendale used to be called Alto. It was where the georgia department of corrections used to send All male inmates between the ages of 13-19
aged 13-16 was housed in a seperate area and 17 on up was kept together. Alto was the worst prison that anyone could go to in the georgia dept of corr. but from what i have been told things have changed. how much, i wouldn't know but in Feb. 1997 the GDC stop sending all of the young men there and started spreading them out to the rest of the prisons.
Alto may only house up to 1250 prisoners because of prior health and saftey issues. Alto is considered a lock down facility "meaning- it is a very controled enviroment".
