hello everyone,
my husband is in prison in alabama. he was granted parole on march, 29th 2004 pending acceptance from Georgia, after many phone calls with no one going to tell me anything, finally yesterday a parole officer contacted me about his home plan. the question here is does anyone know how long it takes after the parole officer visits the home and accepts the plan, for a release date to be set? I know the request acceptance will have to be sent back to Alabama.has anyone dealt with interstate compact and are they usually this slow? his request was mailed to Georgia on April 22nd and they just now are reviewing it.
thank you for your help

I contacted the Parole Board here in New York about the interstate compact. I was told it could take up to 6 weeks. Not sure if it is the same in all states.Hope this was some help,I know its not much. have a great day

She is correct the normal process after home contact, it usually takes about 6 weeks for them to be released or an actual date set for release, inwhich sometimes falls within that time frame.

Just think he will be home soon!!!

thank you Pam and Angel. 6 weeks doesn't sound too bad since it's been almost 4 months after his parole was granted. he has been in prison 10+ years, waited 18 months after his scheldued parole hearing date to actually have a hearing, sooooo 6 weeks sounds really good to me. yea it's almost over now.
