Does anyone know what company CCWF uses for packages. I was going to send a package but was told that I couldn't unless i ordered it from a company. I have contacted pacakges R us and Access and none of them are it. I would appreciate any response.

Thanks:confused:

Actually, at CSATF anyway, they do not have to send you the form if it is for a quarterly package, only if it is a special purchase package. But I do not know if the rules are different at CCWF.
I would say the easiest way to find out is to call R&R at the prison. The should know who they contract with and what the rules are as far as needing to get the form from your loved one first.

Or you could call Walkenhorst's. That's the only other company I am aware of...

Good luck!

With consistent mail delays within all of the prisons, it is sad that your loved one must rely upon this request of survival items thru snail mail. There consistently remains a question of which prison will allow packages from which provider. One provider demands that you know the difference between A or B compliance when ordering within the prison itself. How can anyone answer your simple question?

In addition, as long as your loved one must request the order, the money may be taken from their account, as opposed from your money on the outside as a direct credit card/payment from you. This allows the CDC to take a percentage for orders from the courts in regard to your loved one.

The existing policy of allowing every single prison to interpret CDC guidelines and set their own rules according to the residing Warden is ludicrous. No wonder you have questions.

None of us can answer you without having a personal experience within your given prison. That is insane. Even the United States Postal System manages to set the same criteria for letters and packages within 50 states. One would think that the CDC could manage to standardize the rules for all 32 prisons within California. Duh, for them, or maybe more money for them?

My understanding as a newbie is that packages used to be allowed to be sent from home. Things changed, and now I understand that there is a hearing on August 12th at the Capitol in Sacramento in regard to this issue. Whether the decision is made to still allow home packages, or whether they will decide to set some compliance for every prison to accept packages from any company may be decided at this hearing. This decision is based upon your opinion as a citizen of the United States.

I think that it is best for all of us to attend that meeting, and the best outcome is for our voices to be heard. We should demand that they allow us to send home packages. It is a public forum, and the outcome will depend on us attending and speaking our minds. I would much rather send items that may give my loved one a sense of home as opposed to a factory, fulfilling requests off of a conveyer belt.

The CDC does not want us there to voice our opinions because they would not want to be assigned to such a boring job as going through our packages, as opposed to being assigned to the mainline where the action is; where they dream to assert their control: fights, disrespect, and neglect. There are postings within the PTO that acknowledge that CDC members are the ones to process the packages, versus standard mail.

I would suggest that if you and others would attend the hearings, all of us at PTO would benefit for our loved ones.

In addition, there is also a rally to object to medical neglect that same day. We all need to be there for our loved ones. We are their only voices to the outside world.

Attending the hearing and following rally may help to answer your current and future questions. Tam

Try AccessSurepack

I think the email address is www.californiaaqp.com (http://www.californiaaqp.com). It has a list of all the facilities you can order on line from. Also check with your person on a form. My husband is in MCCF and he was able to get a form.

Thanks for reminding me of the Rally in Sacramento on August 12th. That is just one week away. You are so right we all need to be there to fight for our loved ones and ourselves.
I have heard there will be groups from every prison and from almost every prison group, church groups, and friends. The speakers will have a wealth of information for us. It will be a good time to learn and share information.

See you there,
Rita

The packages are only one part of the policy change. They also want o take away personal clothing and appliances.

We need to be present at the hearing and the rally. They need to konw we care about what happens in there.

Can you imagine what it will be like to have the shorts and sweats taken from our loved ones and have to have only state issued clothes. Heat and cold not even taken into consideration.

IT'S RALLY TIME

FYI - The rally is scheduled DURING the hearing time, at 11:00am.
It was organized by Cayenne Bird, of the UNION. I think people should be aware of this little fact, since many of us do not want to be associated with her.

I would definitely check with the prison as to what companies they will accept packages from. I have read several little news blurbs that many of the facilities will not take packages from Access. Don't know why, though. I have also heard a few of the wives mention that they searched the packages anyway and even removed items from some. Consistency is not a word in the CDC dictionary.
