HELP!
The more days go by with no mail (now 14 days!!!) the more I start thinking that I did something STUPID!!??!!
My man asked me to send his bud, who moved from a shared cell to the camp, a picture of our visit and to tell him that he is doing fine.
So I got a picture copied and sent this guy a letter, also asking a few questions about the camp, plus telling him that my man is doing fine, and so on.
I didnīt get a reply from that guy AND I didnīt get any mail since about the time when they recieved that letter at the mail-room.
Now I wonder if this can be a reason for them to not permit me and my man to write any longer???????????   If so, how can I find out? Without waking maybe "sleeping dogs", and to push them onto the subject...(in case there is some other reason for no mail)
IS THIS ENOUGH DONE TO MAKE THEM DECIDE "NO CONTACT??????"
I swear if I donīt get mail today or tomorrow, Iīll have a nervous breakdown!!!!
ANY IDEAS??????HELP!!!

It seems like they'd have had to notify you if they weren't going to let you have mail contact with him anymore, or that you'd have gotten a letter back with something written on it. I'd wait awhile longer or send him some more letters and see what happens. To my knowledge, they can't deny a person their mail unless it's for some good reason, but I think he'd have found someone in there who would let you know if they weren't letting him write to you anymore. Just keep hanging on and hope for the best. If you do call, just ask if there's a mail sanction against him writing to you. You don't have to give any specifics.

I just noticed that you're in Germany. I'm sure that's got something to do with it. The mail going overseas has a lot more places to get lost or delayed, so I'd just wait and probably eventually you'll get a letter.

Thanks :)
See, after getting 2 -3 letters a week for the past 3 Yrs, these two weeks REALLY MAKE ME NERVOUS ;)
And since it came together with me writing to that other guy things seemed to be suspect to me.
Til today I got no mail back from there or any other message, so Iīll hope for the best here. I mean, IF they would not let me write, then my best friend (and her address...) would write... ;), But itīs strange !!! I hope Iīll find out before Sunday. Sunday is always a bad day waiting for messages.

OK I KNOW A LITTLE ABOUT THIS. LISTEN YOU CAN NEVER SEND A PICTURE OF A MAN IN PRISON TO ANOTHER MAN IN PRISON. I ONCE MADE PICS ON MY COMPUTER OF ME AND JEFF AND SENT THEM TO HIM, THEY WERE PICS FROM THE VISIT AND HE WASNT ALOUD TO HAVE THEM. THERES LIKE THE RULE, LIKE INMATES CANT SEND OR RECIEVE LETTERS FROM OTHER INMATES, WELL THEY CANT HAVE PICS EITHER. THAT MIGHT BE THE PROBLEM.

I am in Indiana, and I have sent several pictures of my husband and I on a visit to him. I just take the pictures from the visit home, make some copies and send him one back. Wonder why it would matter if he received a picture of himself. I can understand the thing about inmates writing each other. Even though I don't agree with it most of the time. Good luck, Sdready.

I know poloroid pictures can't be sent but I don't know about others. I'm thinking that the prisons here don't allow pictures of other inmates sent to prisoners either.

I have the exact same problem. 2-3 letters a month for about 3 years, and now nothing for 4 months. I write 2-3 times a week, and have been for at leats the last 3 months. I'm in Denmark, but I can't believe that many letters can disappear.
I send no pictures except ones printed from the computer, I stay below 5-6 pages in each letter. No naked or in any way pornographic pictures. But still nothing gets back to me, I so nervous, because I've moved, but he doesn't have my new adress. I write my new address in every letter I send.

I'm going out of my mind worring!

The information of not being able to send photos of inmates taken and then send them to another inmate at another institution is incorrect. Over the years I have done it many -- many times. I have sent photos of hubby and me to prisons in Oregon , Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and matter of fact a couple of prisons right here in Calif. I also know other people who have done the exact same thing.
I have also mailed hubby copies of my son in prison in Oregon.
So I guess maybe it just depends on various mail rooms at the different prisons.

Hi..
It seems like from what I have read it is just the mail going over seas that is being delayed... If that is the case why not try to get someone here in the states write to your man for you and see if they can get a reply... also here in NC I know you cant send pictures of your and yourself to another prison, nor are they allowed contact with other inmates at different prisons... I sent a letter to my loved ones friend telling him that my loved one said hello and asking him questions about the place where he was currently....well they sent the letter back saying correspondance was not allowed between inmates... so if they didnt allow the correspondance looks like they would send it back with the reason as to why !!! Could be also that they looked at it, stamped it (the reason as to why) and sent it back out the next day... might just be taking a few days longer to get back due to the overflow of mail from the prison in general going out.... best of luck....let us know how it goes!!!

You can send pics of inmates ... the problem may be that you asked questions and relayed messages ... like asking how they're doing or stating that your husband is doing well. I received a letter back recently under those same circumstances and the letter with it said it was "inmate-to-inmate" correspondence. I didn't get the letter back for a while after I sent it. That may be the case with yours. If they felt it was suspicious they may be checking his mail to see if there are "codes" or anything in it that may be bad. That happened to me once and I got about 10 letters all at the same time.

Hi there!
Wow, my problem is solved and I feel with all the people out there who are waiting for mail!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you all for your replies!
This time it was no problem with the prison! I tried to call after 4 weeks of no mail, but couldnīt get through. Then I tried to call his mom, couldnīt get through eather.
Finally when I went out for a walk a guy from next street stopped me - the mailman dellivered MY mail to the wrong house in the wrong street!! Can you believe that???!!
And more than once! I got four letters!!! (Okay that neighbour obviously didnīt move his lazy butt to tell me that he got my mail either, but Iīm glad he didnīt throw it away!) Now Imagine, my man was getting my letters where Iīm asking for whatīs wrong over and over again! For nothing!
But I see that you are right and Iīll better send no more pics and letters to the other guy!! I donīt want to mess with my communication!
Take Care!!

The mailman would have a serious problem. I've gone to the post office for that and for them failing to deliver the mail and other things. With my husband being gone so long and so far away, you don't mess with my mail. I bet he wouldn't mess up again! Hell, and no telling how many letters went to other addresses and they didn't bring them to you!

I know that inmates aren't allowed to have pictures of other inmates. Just wait a little longer. You'll get a letter in the mail if they've stopped your mailing privileges.
