Anne Rose-Pierce from "...after seventeen years" gets credit for this one. It was in he quarterly newsletter and I just had to pass it along:

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) offers a compilation o 28 courses and the opportunity to receive 1 college credit hour for each course completed. If you have servere gaps in your employment history, it's a good way to show a potenital employer evidence of inititative. By accumulating college credits through FEMA Independent Study Courses, you can get some personal satisfaction and valuable college hours towards a degree.

Icing on the cake - FEMA is free and it does hire ex-felons. Write to:

Find "independent study courses" on the left hand side this gives you a list of course offered, pretty horrific stuff being FEMA and all...
But it might finish my requirement for 3 college credits.
