View Full Version : A funny thing just happened!!
Enjay 07-14-2004, 02:48 PM :D My husband just called me. Alot of times we get a little...how should I say it?...friendly in our phone calls. We have had the COs in the tower wag his/her finger at Sonny because of our calls and one even asked him after a call when we were getting conjugals, and wasn't he making it harder on himself? Well today before the call he was told by the CO (a woman) to keep his call clean. He told me this on the phone and I was "Ahhh, why do they have to listen and ruin it for me?" :( I was all pouting and stuff. The CO called down to him that she turned it off and to go ahead and do what he had to do!!! lol ;) She heard what I said!! I was like what? And he told me what she said, and we did!! See? There are some COs with a heart!! I told him to tell her thank you!!! :D
Forever_Lovers 07-14-2004, 05:43 PM LOL Enjay. I didn't realize that they could be so close when they are on the phones. I will have to tell my husband he'll have to becareful about that. It's good that she had heart!!!

LaEuropea 08-13-2004, 01:22 PM hahahha very cute!
KissyMissy74 09-02-2004, 07:43 PM Are they allowed to do that or does that vary from state to state? I know we've had our conversations listened to under certain specific circumstances. But to just randomly listen and then call you out on it too, that doesn't seem to be within the boundaries of the law.
Or even if they randomly listen without us knowing, I don't think they can come to you and discuss the content, it's like a violation of the HIPAA/privacy laws or something. Even if he's not protected by them anymore, I certainly am.
Hope this makes sense. I know they can listen sometimes, but just for the hell of it and discuss it with you seems unlawful.
Enjay 09-24-2004, 07:07 PM My husband had a CO deliver his mail and smile and say "You're gonna love this one!!" It was a passion letter from me!! So they read all our mail too! Yeah, he's had CO's wag their fingers at him while we were talking, meaning for him to stop talking sexy. It sucks!! It doesn't seem fair! My husband said they can't stop ME from sexy talk, just him!! So he wants me to do the seducing!! Arghhh!!! =:-D
AMANE 09-24-2004, 07:21 PM WOW that is crazy. I sent my man a passionate letter ONCE and I cant believe Co's might have read it!!!! Well your good....because I would be too shy to talk like that over the phone anyway's lol. Well thanx for the laugh
jblovesdb 09-24-2004, 07:48 PM That is great!! Atleast some CO's have a heart...they realize the guys have needs...and so do we!!! Hugs:p

imanillusion 09-26-2004, 12:56 AM Hi everyone.I have been a "lurker" for some time on this site.I just now registered.
Some questions arise about the listening of phone calls.
Yes phone calls monitered to because it is a security issue.
A federal facility will open mail and read it.However in the State Facility where I am,we are not allowed to read mail from the public. We read "resident to resident"mail.
I am happy to see that not all encounters with Correctional Officers are bad.We do have compassion.
almosthere 11-23-2004, 08:55 PM Hahahehe, great story.
MrsBenji 11-23-2004, 09:13 PM Y'all mentioned the letters being read. I can mail several things, including an "interesting/fun" letter, on the same day and the dirty/passionate letter always comes a day behind. I don't think it is a coincidence. They are supposed to "scan" letters for content that isn't appropriate accordding the the guidelines, but the consistency in the delay of those letters tells me that someone is either reading them or scanning really slowly and carefully.
I guess some people need to get their cheap thrills from somewhere. No offense to the CO's, because I do know not all are *ahem* but one bad apple spoils the barrel. ;)

As said, yes we monitor and record ALL the phone conversations. If it's a particularly 'racy' conversation I'll usually just flip it off and listen to the radio or something, it's still being recorded on a computer somewhere incase anything happens, but I don't need to hear it. When abusive husbands/BF's start yelling and verbally abusing their wifes/GF's that is where I draw the line.. if you won't stand up for yourself and hang up.. your call will be terminated. :(
Mail, we block Officers do not read mail, we do have a mail room that opens everything and inspects it.
