hi everyone. me and my husband got married on may 11th this year. i dont know how he got ahold of this ring he gave me, but i have the most beautiful ring a girl could want. well eres my question... i got a white gold band for him and i want to give it to him, so how do i go about doing that? do i send it in the mail or give it to him at one of our visits? what do i do?? You will have to call the prison and gets specific instructions from them. Each state/prison has different rules.

I wouldnt put it in the post, and just send it, I would suggest what Mrs D said, and ask the best way to get it to him. If you just send it, it more than likely wont get to him.

I don't think they'll "allow" you to give it to him. He can sneak it in. But he has to think about the consequences.

At Michael's facility, you're supposed to call the chaplain & make arrangements; from there, I'm not sure if they okay it so that you can give it to him during a visit, or whether you have to send it to the chaplain's office & they give it to him. I'm pretty sure you can't send them through with regular mail, though, and I AM sure that at most facilities, you can't give them anything that isn't pre-approved during a visit.

make arrangement with his counselor or the warden. Find out the rules. If you send through the mail they will send it back. Best to get the ring cleared with the facility before taking any action.
