I Am Planning On Marrying My Fiance Jason. He Has A 17 Year To Life Sentence Of Which He Has Served 15 Years. Well Next Month He Goes To His Board Date Which He May Possibly Get A Release Date. Anyway We All Know With Lifers Theres That Strong Possibility That They May Never Come Home. But I Love Him Enough To Spend The Rest Of My Life With Him Regardless Of What Happens Next Month. So I Am Planning To Marry Him In November.
I Guess I Just Want To Know Are There Any Of You Out There That Are Married To A Lifer Or Are Considering Marrying One. How Do You Plan To Deal And Cope With The Time???? Please Share Your Stories. Thanks.

Married my 3 Striker (25 to life) almost 2 years ago, as led by the Lord. Praying for Proposition 66 to pass, as his 3rd strike is both non-serious and non-violent. I have to walk in faith and belief that he is coming home soon. I know God is good and that He has us where we are for a reason and a season.
How do I get through?? Visits once or twice a month, lots of prayer and fellowship, knowing that God is in control and just plain faith the size of a mustard seed!!
Having been with your Jason for 6 years, I'm pretty sure you know your heart. If you also know the Lord, He won't lead you astray that's for sure.
Love and blessings,

jasonsmyhoney! I've been married to my lifer hubby for 19 years. He was already in prison when I married him but we had been together off and on for our whole lifes. I think the most important ingredient in our successful marriage is a mutual respect and understanding of each others needs. We don't hold each other down and tell each other what to do. My husband encourages me to go have fun and to live life to the fullest, and I encourage him to do the same. Being best friends is a good start for the both of you. The best relationships start out that way! Best of luck!!!

Ive been married almost 2 years this septmember. They are going to come home if they have the possibality. we just have to have the faith and support. I took a big chance but I did it out of love. I dont try to think about it to much. I keep myself busy, and Im also going back to school/.
