Hi, I often fill up letters with news clippings, pictures from magazines, etc...well I came across a beautiful photo in a high dollar magazine. The paper is glossy. Actually it is an ad from a local jewelry company stating that they do custom work. The picture is of 2 beautiful and unusual diamond rings and an antique hand gun inlaid with gold and diamonds. I have been told it is a "lemon squeezer"?? About 70 years old...Anyway....if I sent it do you think it would be refused by the mail room as objectionable? If you think it would get thru do you think my best shot (no pun intended) would be Florida, Michigan, or New York????? Thanks, I appreciate your input. If I do send it I will let you know how it goes...Judy

Well, be careful with Michigan. Jack's bunkie's girlfriend just tried to send a similar picture and it was rejected. Then, when she came to visit the next time they tried to deny her visit. They got it straightened out, but it caused some problems.

Oh my God...thank you Jacks_Tracy I had no idea...that it would be taken that seriously as to effect visitation!!!!! I was just curious if it would be refused by the mail room...Thanks I think I will pass on trying it....Judy

I didn't think they could deny visitation for something other than visitation misconduct.

Prisons can deny your visitation for a lot of reasons, and those reasons don't have to make sense to anyone but them.
I wouldn't send in a picture of a gun------it just wouldn't be worth the risk. At the least it could get rejected, but at the worst, it could get him or you under suspicion for a security risk.

Toi_Ama I totally agree prison can do what they want to about visitation or anything. I just am a bit of a rebel when I can be and like to do the unusual but not to the point of risking any problems. Thanks for your input. I wasn't going to send it with criminal intent purely as art as it is beautifully done....Judy
i would think that it would cause probs just 'cuz it is a gun, ya know!?!? :)
it can't hurt to try...
I would be careful as well about sending in a picture of a gun, but cause its in a catalogue, you would think it wouldnt matter to much. Just be careful.
