my fiancee was sentened to 5 years for 2nd degree therft,for wrinting bad checks,how long will it be before he is eligible for parole?

Well I believe he can get an interview with the parole board in 3-6 months. So I would say as long as he stays out of trouble while he is in, it could be anywhere from 6 months to 2.5 years. Was he sentenced to a mandatory time? Like 85% or whatever? If he was sentenced to a mandatory time, he has to serve at least that before he's eligible. Now if he was sentenced to the mandatory 85%, by the new law he'll be eligible for parole after serving 70% of his time. If he wasn't sentenced to any mandatory time, he can go before the parole board after 3-6 months. Depending which facility he's in, he may have better luck than if he's in others.
