And I've read a few posts here regarding the Intensive Confinement Center and I figured I could provide some good information to those of you who are either eligible or who have loved ones in the program.
The ICC is basically boot camp in the fed system. I will start a thread with some basic information and then go from there.

thanks for the welcome folks. I hope my ICC info is useful and good thoughts and karma out to all those with loved ones on the inside. Some good resources: http://www.famm.org and http://www.drugpolicy.org
also, http://www.johnkerry.com because John Ashcroft has got to go (not to mention the rest of the current group of *real* criminals running this country). Get out there and vote if you can. Those of us with felonies in certain states can't vote, but our loved ones can and through them our voice can be heard.

Hello...I am new here and I have a son in State who is going for an appeal on 7-29. His appeal is to about sentencing guidelines. He got 5 life sentences and according to what he heard he should have gotten 24 years. This happened 5 years ago. He wants me to contact the federal courts because if he has to spend this time he thinks it would be better than State. Who can I talk to about this? Thanks

Embezzle, it depends on what type of medication and what medical problems you have. You have to be able to pass a physical.

I promise I'll continue this thread shortly all the way through the program.
Medication will not disqualify you from the program, though depending upon what it is you may not be allowed to take it anywhere within the BOP or at the Boot Camp. There are physical requirements for the boot camp though. If you have a serious heart condition it is unlikely that you would be allowed to participate. Serious Asthma could also keep you out, though a mild case requiring certain types of inhalers are ok.
I neglected to mention the fourth way that people leave the ICC, medical problems. One guy broke his arm and had to leave, another had heart surgery and had to leave. If you are unable to run or actively participate in PT than you stand a strong chance of being shipped out. Do what is necessary to get by in the ICC but nothing more. If you overextend yourself physically you risk injury and that does not help your family or you.
I hope this helps but without more specific info about your meds I really couldnt say one way or the other.
