Hi yall
It is a good day, for me and for us. My girl and I write each other a whole lot. And I know where she is at, no more driving around looking for her. Much has happen in the last five years. Since I left her behind.
She was caught with a little dope. In court she was given an option of parole. She didin't want that, she took the sentence. She took the sentence to clean up her act. A friend of mine called me from SNWCF and told me, "Guess who is here."
I wrote her about five letters and threw them all away.
Then I wrote a simple letter, from the heart, "I still love you". Sometimes it was just too much, ya know going to the pawn shop and buying back your own stuff. A lot of anger and pain. I let go of that, because I still love her, never stopped and often got the girlfriend of the moments name mixed up with hers, (guys don't do this).
She is now in a work camp. She has put forth an extra effort, and I am grateful to know where she is, altho I can't visit (a few warrants). I put money on her books, send magazines, clothes and now some Christmas candy. Ohh I also proposed, (bumping head against wall Joey realizes that love is worth the effort).
We make a few plans, write a lot ( screw those phone calls and the bastards who profit from them one a month is our limit) and next year I will be drive her home.
I gave up on the girlfriend of the moment, work dilligently and stay sober. This wonderful woman is worth the wait.
Happy Holidays
Joey
