I'm not really sure how the jail bond works. I suppose you put up your house or something with collateral to cover the bail to a bondsmen. He takes care of the transfer title and post your bail? Is that how it works?

How does the bond work when you are working as a repair person and you are insured to work in the public. To cover the cost of anything that is stolen or broken?

What I think these bond people should do is expand thier business to bond us honest drug free people to enter and visit prisons to do whatever work or bring what the prisoners need.

Any and almost all privileges have been taken away from prisoners because of smuggled contraband. (yes I know its not always the family and friends)

They are no longer allowed to have food brought in. The old hack saw in the cake is still going on. Marijuana brownies?

Wouldn't a nice home cooked meal be nice to bring on a Saturday or Sunday visit?

Some nice soft towels, sheets and undies actually washed and dried with nice soft soap. Dried with good smelling Downey?

Be able to donate used books to the library. VCR movies, DVD's, CD's. Have a nice selections.

Extra hobbies?

Bond people so they are not harrassed when they visit. Bring normal every day items in.

Can you imagine the numbers of different people who would volunteer to be involved with prison if the stigma and humuliaton of coming and going were relieved?

One can bond out of jail when they are first charged - before they are convicted. The bail bondsman makes sure the charged person shows up for court.

Torrey, a work bond is put up by a bond company to ensure that any loss incurred by a company due to your accident, or theft is payed off. To be able to be bonded you have to pass a pretty good background check. Most people who are bonded are people who handle large amounts of cash or valuables. Armoured car drivers, people dealing in precious metals & stones, cashiers, etc. If they screw up & damage items, lose items, or steal, the loss is covered by the bonding company.---Ken

Hey Torrey...

This is the USA...
I agree that the accused is suppose to receive a bond within their means (at least our constitution says so)....
But the surety bond you describe will probably never pertain to prison visitors...good thought though
