Multiple (MORE THAN ONE) PTO account is NOT ALLOWED...
Depending on the use of extra accounts, I may very well be banning all of them.

I am able to search for multiple accounts by cross referencing IP addresses, Email accounts and a few other ways. Members will have to rely on their memories. :)
For you, you use both AOL and Mindspring to dial up. And without digging hard, I would say you only have one account, though two different Internet Service providers, or maybe one is old and one is new.

Bottom line with all of this is I am serious about stopping any type of abuse. People will not be penalized for having multiple accounts because of registration issues, etc. But, if someone is actively using two accounts, that is not allowed. ESPECIALLY if their use violates any of the rules of PTO.

on a serious note, Fed, I do have another account that I switched to when I first signed on because if you remember me telling you I had problems with AOL..I've never used it and I can tell you it so you can delete it. I'm sorry. :(

The chat and PTO are two diffrent programs I believe,
I know that there is several that had to use another name cause they could not get the other to work.

All you that come in need to make sure that you register in the chat, that is a diffrent register then the one before entering the chat. That will save your Nick where no one esle can use it. I am wondering if that is the problem. I believe that Fedx is talking about more then come account for PTO. IF i am wrong, again, Fedx will correct me. :)

Okay I am not too puter literate here so bare with me... When Travis comes home and he has his own name but we use the same puter will that show up as having two accounts?

God, now I'm confused. I get on PTO at home, at work, and at my son's when I go downstate to visit Bill. Is using more than one computer seen as more than one account? I mean PTO recognises me on all of them as "deb." Also, on chat I'm deb7 because it quit letting me in as deb for whatever reason.....it said deb was already registered...ah duh, yeah to me....Thanks.

You can use your PTO account name at any computer. The IP address of each computer you access PTO with will be recorded. That does not mean you can't use 100 or more different terminals. If you do happen to use a terminal of someone elses that accesses PTO, it will show up that both of your accounts have used the same IP address, but it will show which ones are used more and which are intermittent.

If there are two of you in the same house that are members of PTO it will show up as the same IP address for the two accounts. That is not a problem unless there is abuse or reason to believe it is the same person. I would think that if there are two of you in the same house, it would be indicated in your posts or some of us would know about it. If there is a concern, I would email one or both of you. Chances are you will never hear from me about it.

I honestly do not spend my time going around and matching up members IP addresses, BUT if I suspect someone is actively using more than one account, I can use this feature to figure things out. This rule is not a blanket automated rule where if two IP's are the same the accounts are banned. It is mainly an investigative tool.

I have two accounts that can be deleted or closed. they are Deaconblues which I set up for my friend Danny who is now in prison, & no longer will be using it, in fact he nver did.

The other one is Kconnor I used this to see if I could by pass the problems I am having with the site. I am still having major problems, but I am not using this account.
