Hi...just wanting to vent some anger here. I got a letter returned from my man yesterday. Was a pretty personal letter if you all know what I mean and I included a little black fabric pussy cat ;) Anyways....on the the back of envelope I had drawn a little picture of me holding a heart ballon with the words 'I Love You'. The reason it got sent back was cause of the pussy lol oh well. It made it through first time I sent one. My man had asked a guard about it and was told seen no reason why wouldnt be allowed and that whoever doing mail that day obviously nasty. Yeah nasty alright and crude because on the back of the envelope he/she had done another balloon with 'I F*** You' This gal not impressed because I took it as direct comment to me. Has anyone else had this experience? My man is still only in jail at this stage.
Hi ozzie (((hugs)) good to see you here :)
I was horrified when I read that, what right do they have to make rude comments on mail, that is morally wrong, and disgusting. I dont know what to say, that has left me speechless. How rude!!!!!!

I would contact the administrator of the facility--you have proof that your mail was tampered with beyond what was reasonably necessary to ensure safety of the facility. I have only had two letters returned for technical reasons, and when they were returned, there was a printed label stating why it was being return and the date that this rule has been in place. I think that is the MOST professional way to do it. I would contact whoever and just explain to them you understand now that you cannot draw on the outside of the envelope. HOWEVER, you do not understand why professional staff are behaviing in a childish manner, and tampering with your mail. It might be a far stretch, but you could argue this is a federal offense. But, again, you would have to know EXACTLY what legal liberties they can take when it comes to mail. If the administrater asks to see it, photocopy it. Keep the original in your personal file until the matter is resolved. Good luck!
