Taken from a insert from the Pacific News Service paper, dated June 23rd,04.
"I look forward to working with the governor "Arnold Schwarzenegger" to
re-establish public confidence in California's prison system through real reform". Who is she trying to fool here? This is a woman, a warden that worked at San Quentin for 25 years and believe's in the " Code of Silence".
And still does today. No, I have to disagree with her statements...she isn't
going to restore what little hope all of us have between our fingers that California's State Prison problems are going to get a "quick fix", and everything
is going to be alot better for all inmates in all California Prisons... Naw, I tend
to believe if anything she will use that old saying " do as I say, not as I do".
The only thing that we the people of California can hope and pray for is
our New Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger won't turn out to be the wuzzy
that Gray Davis was.

Hello,Eric's Homegirl. In my opinion there is no quick fix for Ca prisons or any other prison for that matter. These conditions didn't happen over night & they won't be fixed over night either. Let us see the "reforms" first & then maybe she will see public confidence in the prison system. Exactly when did the public ever have confidence in the prison system? It has been my experience that the "public" feels that the inmates have it "too good" as it is. There seems to be some idea out there that these guys are in there getting college degrees from the great libraries they have & have access to state of the art computers & wide screen t.v.'s and on 7 on. I also believe in the statement "Money talks 7 B.S. walks". We'll see if this warden talks or walks. If she adheres to the Code of Silence maybe she should use it now and be quiet.
