I think it is beyond time to open a forum dedicated to what I believe is an illegal practice that I KNOW takes place quite a bit... The summary trashing of Inmate Mail by guards who are either too lazy to sort it or are doing it for other reasons.

This forum should be used to discuss all things relating to Prison Mail with the EXCEPTION of any talk on how to get contraband into an institution. Any post like this will be immediately deleted and the posters membership will be up for review.

This is also not a Pen-Pal discussion forum. Please use the forum for Pen-Pal General talk to discuss any pen-pal type issues other than those relating specifically to the mail.

Some of the things that I would like to see here are reports on institutions that you believe may be trashing mail. Please always support your claims with as much factual evidence as possible.

I would also like to dig up some research on laws that may be violated when mail is trashed. Messing with the mail is a federal crime. Should prisons and guards be excluded? Most definitely not.
