I just visited the website for Citizens Against Military Injustice (CAMI) for the first time in a long time, and there have been a number of changes. First, it has become a subscription site. Full access to most of the articles cost $19.99 a year, and is probably well worth it. However, there are a number of articles available on the website free of charge. I especially recommend the Military Justice Fact Sheets.
The site is www.militaryinjustice.org. Just go to the site and click on "The System" at the top of the page. You will then have a number of options, including the aforementioned fact sheets, also available in a downloadable PDF format. The index lists 20 different subject areas, from a general overview to Undue Command Influence, to... well, check it out. There are a number of other interesting and useful articles available to subscribers or nonsubscribers, including cases, and a copy of the Manual for Courts Martial (MCM).
For those of you not familiar with CAMI, it was started in 1999 by Glenda Ewing, the mother of a convicted Marine, Kevin Holt. CAMI has always been pretty strapped for funds for a reaon many of us can identify with; i.e., nobody gives a damn about the military justice system until it steamrolls over them or someone they love.
I will admit that I have yet to give CAMI my 19.99, though I have every intention of doing so, as soon as I have it.
Anyway, PUHLEEZE visit www.militaryinjustice.org. For those of you with questions on the system it's a great place to start.
The Military Justice System IS America's Dirty Little Secret. It's time the secret got out.
God Bless You All. :)
