How much power do regional probation/parole offices have in keeping someone from returning to his/her own home to serve probation?
My husband has been told by his team that he may not be allowed to do his probation in his home county (where he has a home and work waiting) due to the restrictions the regional office may have.
How can this be?
The presiding district some three hundred miles away where his charges were heard told him that he would be welcomed with open arms if he wants to serve his probation there (where he knows no one and has no job contacts).
Confused. A lot!
