Does anyone know - they shave the men's head in State Prison, what is the policy for women's prison's? Someone told me that when you go to bedford hills to be classified, they shave women's heads also.

Hi, I just wanted to say that my sister went to federal prison and she did not have her head shaved.

I never heard of them shaving women's head but I am from Florida. Sorry I can't help you!

...and as for the men's it usually is just when they come up, after that, i think they can wear it whatever way.

Thanks everyone for the info. A shaved head just adds insult to injury, lose my son, lose my husband and life like I knew it and then have to shave my hair too? more than I can bear. again thanks.
