i am not sure what to tell you. i am waitng on a phone call right now.. my husband(not at polensky) says it will probably be in the evening. i think it really depends on the unit and when they feel like dialing the phone for them. i am keeping my phone forwarded to my cell to make sure i get the call!

They don't schedule the calls, it is when ever the staff feels like letting them use the phone. It can be day or night or when ever.
From what I hear (Not sure) but if they call and you miss the call it counts as one of their phone calls. That is what a couple of my friends on Polunsky told me.

I think the whole things sucks, but I guess a couple of phones calls is better then no phone calls. I guess.........:(

My husband told me they have been doing calls lately on weeknights and Sunday afternoons...but like Softie said, it can be any day, and at any time. Sucks, I know! :(

Hi, Rimmel, The men on DR in Polunsky (as well as those in general population) are not allowed to make phone calls, non-legal ones that is. I have 3 penfriends on the row in Texas as well as 2 in general population; was just in Livingston early April and enjoyed my stay and my visits (Polunsky and Coffield)

As of April, I may be wrong on the time it was actually in effect, how ever, DP is now allow 2 calls per year.

In genral population, and in ag.seg, they can only alloy for phone calls every 90 days. ( that does not mean for those in seg gets though calls, cause they dont) in GP, i know that u have to be on the visiting list, then when the 90 comes up, they can then request their calls.
I hope this helps

Yup, Lulu and Softie are right ;) and yes they may put in requests to get their calls but it may take forever for them to actually get to call, if at all...

I have indeed received a phone call from Polunsky. He called at approx. 5:30 p.m. and we had a great talk. Short but nice.
They get phone calls every 90 days for 5 minutes. We had been trying to set it up. I told him when I would be around and when I would not and he managed to ensure that it happened when he knew I would be home. First time I heard his voice. Amazing. :D

I guess that they are just allowed to make texas calls or does anyone know about international phonecalls?

I received my call across the country. They can make phone calls anywhere as long as the collect charges are accepted.

They are allowed (as Cam said).... a 5 minute collect call every 90 days they just changed it on death row from 2 a year to every 90 days. They can make international calls now, but they have to fill in a request form (but as Sweetbearslilwifey said), its when they feel like giving it. My friend was approved a phone call to me, and was supposed to call last week, but his still waiting (even though they approved his request).

Thats death row, I am not sure about general population but I believe it is the same rules. I figure 5 minutes is better than nothing, but a 15 minute call would be awesome :D
