I have a question that no one may have an answer to but I am going to ask anyway. The death chamber at Holman has viewing areas for the victims families, attorneys, media, and the inmates family. Does anyone know whether the windows between those rooms and the chamber have normal glass in them or is it one way mirrors where you can see inmate but he can't see you? I would appreciate help with finding this out. DJ is still hanging in there and we are still living on borrowed time, but I have always told him that I wanted to be there for him at that time and my reason was so that the last face he saw would be of somone he knew loved him. If it is a one way mirror and he can't see me then I have to start thinking of another reason to help him understand my need to be there with him. Help!

actually ragland on that site it says: "The prisoner's head is left unrestrained -- in states that use regular windows, this enables the inmate to turn and look at the witnesses. In states that use one-way mirrors, the witnesses are shielded from view." so it looks like it varies by state.
maybe you could call the facility and ask? holman's number is 251-368-8173
bless you, pam, i cant imagine what youre going through right now. we're here if you ever need anything

Pam, from the thing's I read it's a regular window. You can see one another.I always thought they had a choice of their last meal.Didn't know that it was what ever the prison was having that day. Most of the time it comes from the vending machines.I don't which is worse.
Bless you.

We are far from giving up that is for sure. That is something I will never do. I have said for seven years now that if they killed him tomorrow I would still spend the rest of my life trying to clear his name. After 21 years you would think if one was guilty they would admit it. He still to this day says he is innocent. Alabama like other states says that they never kill an innocent person. I know of two in the last year and if they kill him that will make three. I still pray everyday that one day soon he will be coming home with me, but the realistical side of me has to look at the "big picture" Just keep up all the prayers because we sure need them. Thanks everyone for you help, thoughts, prayer and love.

It is my understanding that the inmate can see the families and friends that are present. I can't remember which case but I do remember something being said about how an inmate looked at his visitor during the process. I will ask mike when he calls if he knows anything .
