Now That My Wife Has A Hearing Date (7/20/04) What Should I Be Doing To Help Possibly Guarntee A Release? Write Letters, Get Names Of People Who Are In Official Positions To Sighn Something Or Maybe Even A Letter Recommending Her Release Or What. What Should I Say And Not Say At The Hearing.?

IM congrats on your wife's parole date!!!
you can write her a support letter and she can get c/o's to write her letters of support. you'll want to have a copy of any certificates she has gotten. the board really wants to see drug program and strong institutional support of parole. you can get anyone you know to write letter's of support for her as well. in your letter, you'll want to express how she has made positive changes. make sure these are mailed to the parole board before the hearing because they won't read anything at the hearing. the questions they ask me was 1- why should we parole him? 2-what plans do I have in place to ensure he will stay out of prison? they were fairly nice and let me talk. your only going to be in there for 5 mins.and they will make their decision then. I really believe they have their mind's made up before the hearing so that's why I stress getting the letter's and certificates to them before she comes up.
best of luck. my prayers are with you

Ok...a word of advise. I KNOW HOW HARD IT IS...but the parole board is not interested in you or your family. they will not listen or take into account how bad she is need. What they will want to hear is how your wife has improved herself. They will however take letters of support from family members as well as community members. Keep that in mind as you perpare yourself for the hearing. I am look for a post by monica when way had his hearing...i'll post it when i find it...good luck DeniseJ

good luck to you. sending prayers your way. yes some are paroled upon completions of sap. some are not. depends but no one seems to know on what. but trust in god heavily and lay this on his shoulders and he will make a way for you to get through this. i too understand how much you must need her home. its so hard on us all. don't know what i would have done without the support here. i get more answers here than the doc or any lawyer has ever been able to give. good luck to you and your family
