I was told at my marriage interview to call the FRP office in 1 week(yesterday) to confirm they received the license and would need to give the final info for the wedding- date, officiant, our names and those of our witnesses. Well, I rush home to call at 3:15 since the office hours on the paperwork are til 4. The lady answers and said I was "too late". She said she was leaving for the day and wouldn't be in til Fri. Then goes on to ask for the inmates name and confirms the license is there. Says again she won't be there Thurs, call Friday... Well why the hell did she bother answering the phone?? By the time she said that stuff she could have written down the info I was to tell her!
I'm upset because I have to give 2 weeks notice and the last possible day I can set this up in the time frame is Friday. So now I'm terrified she will call in sick etc. and my plans will be ruined. It's costing a pretty penny to get up there, pay for the car rental, hotel, and my witness has taken off work to do this. Please pray this is resolved and goes smoothly. Thanks PTO family!!!

Mary, that is so typical of the NY DOS, they are all so lazy. Don't make yourself too crazy, there's nothing you can do anyway but I'm sure it's going to all turn out okay. Keep us posted.
