View Full Version : shawny28 - Husband at FCI Waseca
shawny28 06-15-2004, 02:01 PM hello i'm shawny, my husband is currently incarcerated at FCI Waseca in MN. Hes only been there a little under 2 months and has 28 more to go. hes in there because of the stupid mandatory minimum laws. he and his ex-wife got into a fight about 5-6 years ago, he broke a phone and got a domestic charge. 1 year ago they brought him up on federal charges for having guns while having a domestic. what really sucks is that the guns did not work, they were 70 year old heirlooms passed down from his grandpa. yesterday he was denied his appeal, so it looks like he'll be doing his whole sentence. this man is my whole life. i look forward to hearing from anyone in the same situation, or anyone who just wants to ease their lonliness while their loved ones away. shawny

This site will help keep you from feeling so alone. I joined last month when my boyfriend self surrendered. This site has honestly kept me from totally losing it. I have so much comfort knowing that when I have a problem or just need to get something off my chest that I can come here and will recieve support. I am sure you will find that same support here as well. There are some INCREDIBLE people on this site. Again, Welcome to this wonderful site!!!
point of light 06-15-2004, 02:28 PM Welcome Shawny! This is the best support you'll find while your loved one is "held captive." Do you have to travel far to visit?

koolaidmomgrace 06-21-2004, 01:54 AM My fiancee is also in Waseca, I have a 4 1/2 hr drive too, and make it there about every other Saturday or Sunday, my guy's been there for 13 monthes, 19 more to go, This is such a hard time and I cant say it will get easier or better but once you get a routine down it becomes liveable, Pm me if you have any questions or want to talk, Welcome to PTO, this sure is like a second home to me, and a source of comfort. I wish you the very best! Staci
countrywife 01-18-2008, 12:10 PM WOW! Your story sounds a bit like mine. My hubby is doing a 27 month sentence for a gun charge because they found he had guns in our home that were my son's for hunting. He had a felony because of a charge 12+ yrs earlier. Yep, this minumum crap stinks! We had actually signed a plea for probation too and the judge threw it out at sentencing. I was 9 months pregnant too and he missed her birth by 5 days! He's done 8 months now. Keep the faith!
waiting75 01-18-2008, 05:27 PM Welcome to PTO. Keep coming back here. You will find unbelievable support and friendship. We are all in the same place in our lives and some of us have already been there and back. You can do this! Don't let the BOP beat you down. Stay strong.
Azona 02-03-2008, 06:54 PM Hi, no gun charges, but my son is in Waseca. Feel free to pm me if you need anything! Azona
