I have local phone service by comcast(Florida), I do NOT have long distance. I owe MCI money, about $150 that is past past-due! Say if I ordered long distance through another phone co (bell south, at&t, etc) would i still not receive collect calls from SQ due to the fact that i owe MCI...
any help on this debacle would be appreciated.

Not sure but I think they would still have a block on your line because you owe them.....

MCI is the long distance carrier for SQ. I am almost positive they will block your calls no matter who your carrier is. :(

Maybe not. I had Verizon when Eric was in prison on his last term, I owed MCI big
bucks, and needed to find a way, so I changed carriers, while I paid off MCI, no problem. If there is a way that you can work a deal with MCI there is a chance that
you would be able to recieve collect calls. I have SBC at the moment, and we had
a friend of ours call from San Quentin, it went through. Suzi
