Hi there, I am new here. I was so happy to stumble upon PTO! So a quick intro; I am 34 with 2 kids (girl 11 and boy 2). My fiancee has been locked up since May 2002 (our newborn was 18 days old.) This has been the hardest 2 years of my life. The clouds are lifting, slowly but surely. VERY SLOWLY. I work hard at my job in a catering office and I work hard at home doing the MOM thing. Just a few weeks ago, my man got moved to Owens Valley Conservation Camp. He is very happy to be there so I am happy for him. However, to visit him is now my struggle. I know nothing about the area and I guess it is about 6+ hours from me. I could go on and on but I will cut this short. I am just happy about the possibility of connecting with others out there in similar shoes, who can HEAR me a bit better than some in my life. Ya know?!?!

I am fairly new here also .... so i understand how you feel about finding this site ... it is such a relief to me to be able to come here and be at a place where others are going through the same thing i am ..... and no ones judging me because of my loyalty to the man i love .... and no ones judging him cuz of where hes at .... and its just such a great thing to have found this site ....

Thank you all for the welcomes. I am really enjoying this site. I am spending too much time here and not enought time cleaning my house, oh well. I am wondering about a couple of things; 1) Is anyone familiar with Owens Valley Camp in Bishop? 2) My fiance paid his restitution over 2 years ago and they are still taking the 33% out of all the money we send. Who should we talk to? He has filed a couple of 602's and talked to his counselor and nothing is happening! Does anyone have any ideas?

I feel for you. My boo got arrested when our son was only 6 days old. It's been hard and it's only been 70 something days... I can't imagine going two years like you have... But I've also found comfort in PTO and hope that it helps you as much as it's helped me. Good luck in your situation and stay strong.

Hi there, It's been a while. I guess nobody has much information about Owens Valley. That is ok, I am hoping that he will get moved in a few more months. Hopefully closer to home. An Hopefully, not back to Jamestown!!! We are still stressing over the restitution thing though!!! They owe him sooo much money, it's crazy!!! Well Thanks again for the posts.

I am new to PTO and have also been trying for info on Owens Valley. My son (16 at the time) has gone from Placer County Juv to Tehacappi to Jamestown and now Owens Valley. I will be visiting for the first time there next week on the way to moving to Alabama. He has been incarcerated now for 2 1/2 years. Have you been to Bishop yet? Is there any info you can pass to me? I hope I've done this ?posting? right so you receive this.

I am sorry your fiance is so far away...but at least it sounds like he is in a better place than before.
