are there no visits allowed while on lockdown,I'm traveling from Belguim to Texas in less then two weeks to go visit!!

They have been on lockdown since Monday, and still were as of Wednesday...not sure if they still are or not. Death row still has visits, even when on lockdown, but I am not sure about general population.

Thanx a million for the info sweatbearslilwifey,I'm visiting some one on death row,called last week on friday and it seemed to be okay,at least no one said there were no visits,but I didn't know since when they were on lockdown thats why i worried.You saved me from a sleepless night!;)

Why are they on lockdown in anycase? Sorry i might have missed the reason why somewhere along the lines. But thats just me lately.

I believe they have routine lock down, from what I have been told through letters.

The lockdown today, was over someone having a knife (dont quote me here), and things are being looked into. I dont know if its DR or general that happened to.

You're welcome, Katja! ;) You may still want to double check before you leave Belgium, because you never know when they could change the rules. :rolleyes: However, do NOT lose sleep over it! :) I am sure it will be the same as always, and I have always been able to see my husband even when they were on lockdown. So don't worry! :)

I believe no one was badly hurt, but they were taking care of it. I dont know if it happened in general population, or Death Row, but they are saying that they will have it sorted soon.
It was a guard I believe that was stabbed, but not badly hurt, not one of the inmates.
As I said, dont quote me, I got the info from someome in email. So Im speaking second, maybe third hand, thats all Ive heard.

Polunsky is on lockdown, but I've visited DR twice since they went on lockdown, so I know they're still allowed visits. My friend said that it was just the semi-annual lockdown that they do when they go in and shake down all the cells, but I've heard that there was an incident in GP. So I'm not too sure what's going on visitation wise for the GP inmates, but the DR guys are still allowed visitors.

The knife incident was in GP no DR, this lockdown is one of their scheduled lockdowns.

Alright, now I'm confused... :confused: I've heard from several people that Polunsky is off lockdown, but I was up there today visiting, and not only did my friend say that they were still on lockdown, but the guard in visitation said they still were, too! I think general population is off, but I was told today that they're still shaking down cells in DR and that they won't get off lockdown until they've gone through every cell. Both my friend and the guard said they think by the end of the week... so I don't know. But that's what I heard when I was up there today, so I'm just passing along the information. Anybody heard anything else?

I have heard DR is still on lockdown and GP is off. I heard that today. Destny I would say your friend probably knows since he is there.:)

Hey everyone! I was just wondering did anyone here have a loved one or a penpal on deathrow in Holman prison in Atmore Alabama? If you do please tell me when the inmates on deathrow there are allowed to have visits. I still do not know and I am planning on going there soon. If anyone has any info please tell me, Damaris

Polunsky Death Row came off lockdown on the 23rd June :)
